The atmosphere is simple and welcoming, and the extremely kind owner welcomed us and made us feel at ease right away. She's knowledgeable in recommending the best wines, and she knows how to present each dish beautifully, describing it with passion. We ordered appetizers, two different first courses, and two different second courses to sample a variety of dishes, and we finished with a bang with dessert, all strictly homemade. I can only say that, after the first bite, I was moved; it was a wonderful culinary journey, a pleasure for the palate and the soul. We returned the next day for lunch and can confirm that it was truly worth it. The price is fair and the cuisine is truly excellent, definitely worth trying. Highly recommended.

From the cheese platter to homemade pasta with Chianina ragù, ravioli with venison filling and pecorino sauce, to bresaola/Chianina carpaccio accompanied by a local white wine, everything was very good. The service was extremely friendly.

My partner and I absolutely loved this restaurant. The staff were lovely and very welcoming. We were lucky enough to be in San Filippo during the autumn and so we were able to enjoy their porcini dishes! I had the soup with spelt and porcini, the best meal I had in Tuscany so far!

This place is a true hidden gem! Don’t be discouraged if it looks closed or quiet when you arrive, it’s probably open. Just go inside, knock on the door, and talk to the family. You’ll be glad you did. Everything here is homemade with fresh, local ingredients, and you can truly taste the love in every dish. I had their pasta with olive and tomato sauce, grilled chicken, and salad, all absolutely delicious. The family who runs it is so kind and welcoming, and the lady in charge is wonderful. It deserves way more customers and attention, because this was honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in Italy while traveling through many cities. Highly recommend!

In my opinion, this is the best restaurant I've tried in Val d'Orcia. The aromas emanating from the kitchen were simply fantastic, and the flavors lived up to expectations. The location is rustic yet welcoming, and the owner is friendly and kind. I believe it's family-run. If you're visiting Bagni di San Filippo, it's a must-visit.

15/02/2026: A beautiful hotel with an antique feel. I really liked the combination of stone walls in the bathroom and the room decor. The entrance is very beautiful with soft lighting. The staff is excellent.

But anyone who thinks Il Giglio is "merely" a historical landmark or a splendid terrace overlooking the Val d'Orcia is mistaken. In the heart of Montalcino, this place reveals itself to be a restaurant serving traditional cuisine and a wine cellar that truly immerses you in the heart of Brunello. It's by browsing the wine list that you understand Il Giglio's true stature. It's not just a list, it's a historical archive. The cellar boasts an impressive verticality, from current vintages to collectors' items that have shaped the history of Brunello, offering a panorama that very few other establishments can match.

La Bottega di Giovannino

24/02/2026: A wonderful surprise in Radda in Chianti. La Bottega di Giovannino is a true Tuscan shop, welcoming and authentic. We were welcomed with great warmth and attention (one of the owners even speaks Portuguese!). The tagliatelle al ragù was the best we've had in Italy: fresh, flavorful, and perfectly executed pasta with a rich, well-balanced ragù. The bruschetta with pecorino cheese was also excellent. Thanks to their advice, we chose an excellent Chianti Classico Riserva. Highly recommended for anyone passing through Radda!
