We're visiting from the east coast of the U.S. and happened to stumble into Mastro today and oh goodness. Phenomenal. Scrumptious. Mouth watering, even while eating. Upon arriving, (we were the only ones) we were looking for food. The waitress kindly explained to us that the kitchen was closed at the moment. However, who ever it was, seemed like the chef possibly the head or leader, spoke to her in passing and told her it was no problem at all and to get us seated for a meal. I won't be able to thank him enough for his kindness and services. The food was without a doubt the best we've had during our 3 week stay. 3 WEEKS!!! This was finally the meal and experience we were striving for. During our time, I caught one of the kitchen staff, (I believe the same chef that accepted us in) peeking out the front door to see if we were enjoying our food- I was so touched- I know we as American's eat much faster than most- But we truly couldn't help ourselves with the delightfully crafted favors from their kitchen! We HIGHLY recommend their potato antipasta. (With tomato and other spices), so airy and crunchy on the edges. The cheese and meat boards are also a must. So many flavors. Any wait you have on the express kitchen is well worth it. I could so clearly taste the experience and talent of the entire kitchen staff. I wish my Italian was better to continue my praise for the staff, I hope my "Grazie Mille" was heard to be as loud as I truly meant it to be. Grazie Mille. Excellent dinner, very good food, small but welcoming place. The girls are very nice and cheerful
and always careful in explaining the dishes and giving advice on what to have. I advise

Place in the center, small but hospitable.
Excellent service, as was the food.
The menu changes often, it is a very dynamic cuisine as the lady told us... we will definitely return to try other dishes.

La prima ottima impressione l'ho avuta già dalla telefonata di prenotazione: chiedere se ci sono intolleranze indica una attenzione al cliente alta, che si è confermata durante tutto il nostro pranzo! Il posto è molto accogliente, e la lettura del menù fa prevedere un viaggio fra sapori ed ingredienti scelti con attenzione e cura, e sapientemente cucinati dallo chef. Tra i piatti condivisi supplì di riso strepitosi con ventricina, fior di latte e pomodoro, delle patate fritte uniche, con maionese leggera. Il primo scelto è stato una sorpresa deliziosa che consiglio: Bucatino risottato al Montepulciano con cime di rapa, caciocavallo barricato e pane croccante alle alici! Un Vino rosato ottimo ha accompagnato questo pranzo concluso con due dolci superlativi: panna cotta con timo limonato, limone candito, una frolla sottilissima e gelato alle mandorle, ed una "torretta di cioccolato. Insomma una coccola da regalarsi anche per la gentilezza di chi ci ha accompagnato in questo viaggio! E grazie anche per la ratafià offerta dallo chef!

I got my first excellent impression right from the booking phone call: asking if there are any intolerances indicates a high level of customer care, which was confirmed throughout our lunch! The place is very welcoming, and reading the menu suggests a journey through flavors and ingredients chosen with attention and care, and expertly cooked by the chef. Among the shared dishes are amazing rice supplì with ventricina, fior di latte and tomato, unique fried potatoes, with light mayonnaise. The first choice was a delicious surprise that I recommend: Bucatino risotto with Montepulciano with turnip tops, barricaded caciocavallo and crunchy anchovy bread! An excellent rosé wine accompanied this lunch which concluded with two superlative desserts: panna cotta with lemon thyme, candied lemon, a very thin pastry and almond ice cream, and a "chocolate tower. In short, a treat to give yourself also for the kindness of those who are there. accompanied us on this journey! And thanks also for the ratafia offered by the chef!

Ottima cena in questo locale piccolo ma molto accogliente. Anche gli accostamenti particolari sono ben bilanciati. Segnaliamo il pollo in tre cotture che è stato una piacevolissima sorpresa, ottimi anche gli altri piatti. Servizio davvero eccellente. Consigliato.
