Finally, after many years, it happened again. After the tasting menu, I looked at my digestif and was: simply happy. But first things first. On a fairly rainy Easter Monday we arrived half an hour earlier than reserved, which was no problem at all. Service was quick in the rustic, pleasant atmosphere. We both opted for the tasting menu including wine accompaniment, but asked for another course; we didn't want to miss the fried artichoke with orange hollandaise (rightly, as it turned out). Our request to start the wine tasting with a Prosecco was immediately granted and the first course started quite quickly. Already after the second course it was clear that each course was deliberately tailored to 2-3 flavors that harmonized wonderfully, which the boss confirmed to us in a later conversation. This makes reducing things to the essentials fun. The order and conception of the menu were perfect for us. The wine pairing was precise, the selection was noble and demonstrated expertise. As a digestif I wanted a grappa that was soft but not too sweet or a rhum that was not too sweet. I was surprised with a grappa aged in a rhum cask called "Hija ilegitima", which at 57% vol. had a wonderful balance between softness and character, another wow moment. One thing is certain, even if it takes us over an hour to get there: we'll be back.

A must-see restaurant in San Gimignano. Truly excellent wine offering. A big thank you to the butler for his welcome, his kindness and his professionalism. On the plate it is wonderfully well cooked. Fair cooking and perfect seasonings. All in a soft and elegant setting. We had a very pleasant time. An address to remember and recommend without hesitation.

A little story … we were lost in the streets of San Gimignano and we got lucky to ask for directions and Guido was kind enough to give some advices we also ask for a good restaurant he give us some including Cum Quibus we ask is it good ? He responded yes it is we trusted him and we said with out knowing how fantastic experience we will have on this restaurant ,we replied..…yes will see you there for dinner . and I have to say his words were very modest …..this restaurant it is a must !!!!!if you visiting this town you have to have this experience it was fantastic ,delicious ,scrumptious wam ambiance,every plate was beautifully arranged great assortment of wines and you feel the love in every plate which make it taste the original flavor of an Italian kitchen Thanks to Guido the Cheff and Lorenzo the perfect host and his team We have a magnificent night

Well prepared and tasty food! The 63degree egg was very nicely done, and the generous truffle on top elevated it further. The sous vide cooked beef was also very tender and tasty. We visited two times in our 1 week trip. Overall, the experience was nice, and we also got to interact with Lorenzo (likely the owner), who was our server. He was helpful in sharing a few good recommendations for other restaurants, and all of them were very good. The restaurant is small but can be cozy, depending on the table you get. As a point of improvement, I recommend that the kitchen door is closed - we were positioned close to the door in the first night, and it can get quite noisy at times. Thank you, Lorenzo, for taking our feedback into account in our second visit and for being so flexible to change the chef's menu courses so we can have a fresh/new experience the second time. We look forward to returning!
