Nice place in the center of Lucca with outdoor tables too. We have dined here several times, both inside and out, the food is good and the service is fast and friendly if a little inexperienced. The tables are actually very narrow, but despite being 4 adults with 2 children and very large serving plates, we still spent a nice evening without any particular inconvenience. The prices tend to be high, but the portions are generous.

I took my girlfriend for her birthday and she was pleasantly satisfied with her truffle tagliolini. The pasta was fresh homemade and the truffle flavor was very present. I instead opted for a second course of game, I try stewed with blueberries on polenta. I must say that the venison was delicious and I really liked the contrast with the sweetness of the blueberries. As for the polenta, I expected something different, let's say it was more like a polenta dumpling than real polenta. All in all I was very satisfied with my dish. I would say price-quality in line with the dishes chosen (tagliolini €20, venison €22). Maybe the cover price is a little high.

We already knew Bastian Contrario's tavern. When we are in Lucca we always pass by here. We booked with The Fork at a discounted price. Very good pasta with truffles. Really recommended. The bathroom is also well-stocked with a changing table and products available.

Great experience; excellent food and super friendly guys on duty, always ready to help you and fulfill your every request. Clean and very friendly place. If you don't know where to go I highly recommend it. Prices more than moderate.

A great place for dinner in a quiet atmosphere, very good local food at an affordable price, maybe it's not obvious, but I would like to mention the unusual equipment of a women's bathroom with all the necessary things, which made a great impression on me.

Surprisingly vast menu, excellent quality of food, quick and friendly service. Environment a little sacrificed and prices (perhaps) a little above average. But it's worth it.

A nice place to eat typical dishes such as tortelli alla Lucchese or lampredotto. The external dehor is cute but the three internal rooms full of "made in Italy" with symbols such as the Vespa or the Piaggio Ape are very particular. We appreciated the presence of panty liners and sanitary napkins available in the women's bathroom.

Bastian Contrario è un posto unico, un arredamento davvero originale, personale gentilissimo e menù super con una vastissima scelta tra antipasti, primi e secondi, imbarazzante da quanti piatti si possano scegliere. Sfido chiunque a mangiare qui ed uscire ancora affamato! Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo, consigliatissimo, ci rivedremo sicuramente.

Ho visitato questo ristorante il 2 di gennaio, davvero una piacevole sorpresa. Importante: sebbene da fuori possa sembrare una trappola per turisti, non lo è affatto, merita assolutamente. Il locale è molto pulito e ben illuminato, decorato con elementi tipici toscani ed italiani in generale. Cibo qualità ottima, in particolare la pasta e il lampredotto (purtroppo non ho la foto), molto saporiti e genuini. Il personale è molto gentile e disponibile. Per gli amanti del pulito, il bagno è ben fornito di diversi saponi ed altri accessori.

12/05/2024: A rainy day, a casual walk in for lunch to have a bite to eat and rest for a moment. Happy intuition. We shared an appetizer, crostone with truffle, and two first courses tordelli with tagu and carbonara with truffle, two glasses of wine. All excellent. Made expressly as well as the other dishes we saw pass by and the appreciations of the other diners, fillet. Pasta with tomato sauce (someone said it was their specialty...). Surprise, there are only 2 of us, the guy in the dining room and the chef who I complimented in the kitchen. Optimal !

15/03/2024: It must have been a coincidence, but from what I had heard about it I had very high expectations... unfortunately the staff wasn't super prepared, I was with a friend and since the place was full (we had booked the table in advance anyway) they wanted to put us in a private room 🤔 without even asking us in advance... maybe if I was with my boyfriend it would have been pleasant but when I go to a restaurant I like to experience the real atmosphere that animates it... in any case the evening was sushi and everything was very good.
07/03/2024: Everything simply excellent. Soft romantic atmosphere (really well looked after place in its apparent simplicity. Applause for the truly appreciated musical background). Service (attentive, precise and friendly). Really interesting and quality fusion cuisine. Well done!!
