06/04/2024: Restaurant recommended by a resident of Varenna, it turned out to be an excellent medium/high level restaurant that appropriately combines traditional ingredients with less usual and, let's say, innovative cooking methods. I recommend the lamb chops cooked at low temperature: soft and tasty.

30/05/2024: The cafe has a good location next to the pier and overlooking the lake. Good service and quite inexpensive for Varenna. But the pizza was very average, the dough was thick and tasteless.

03/06/2024: Here one could learn how to sell ordinary food at a high price and wrap it in an extraordinary experience. The flavors are not overwhelming, and neither is the quantity. What about the service, very attentive, professional, you feel really welcome there, it was very pleasant. A beautiful setting with a view of the lake if you are in the garden. And I recommend ordering. We were lucky that they took us, but otherwise full all evening.
23/05/2024: Marvellous restaurant. We went to Lago di Como for our 3 year anniversary and tried 3 different restaurants from the Michelin guide around Lecco and this one stood out.
Next time we visit Italy will definitely go back here and nowhere else. Beef tartare out of this world and the steak cooked to perfection. Even our dog loved their water and he usually doesn’t drink much 🙂.
Also wonderful wine glasses that really bring out the flavours.

09/05/2024: The ice creams are excellent! We had vanilla, peach, speculoos and panna cotta, all were delicious. Service a little speedy in this small gelateria where people rush, but there are cushions on the stairs outside to eat your ice cream while admiring the view!

01/06/2024: My wife and I went for lunch, given the good reviews and the view. It wouldn't have been possible to have lunch as we had a reservation and I didn't feel welcome, very different from two ladies (maybe local or German) who came next.
21/05/2024: We had a fine dinner at Albergo Milano’s La Vista restaurant in May 2024. We appreciated the warm welcome on a rainy evening and our outdoor reservation was seamlessly changed to an inside table. The service, the meals and the wine list were wonderful. Even from inside, this lovely restaurant has a memorable view over the lake. Highly recommended.

27/11/2023: We ordered the Octopus Stew, Spaghetti Vongole, and Smoked Tuna Carbonara. Eveything was delicious. We had a table outside along the stairs so we were able to enjoy our meal with great scenery and perfect weather.

30/05/2024: For 500 Euros you would expect of more. Our room, 128, felt like you were in a closet with the window looking into another closet.
Don't be sure you're getting a great view... We expected one for the price.
The concierge would not help us make a reservation. The bartender tried to pretend to help us by making a phone call and telling us the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed for the evening. In actuality it was open and we didn't find out until after he had directives to another location for dinner.
I feel robbed.

01/06/2024: Expensive restaurant for the service provided. The risotto rice was still raw. In tiramisu, the biscuit was dry, not soaked in coffee, as traditionally. A jug of water, which looked like it came from the tap, cost €2.50. I do not recommend.
01/06/2024: I wouldn't recommend the restaurant. Unfortunately, we didn't like the food and we left still hungry because the portions were so small.

27/02/2024: Chiamiamo domenica per prenotare per una decina di persone per un battesimo e ci risponde una signora che gentilmente ci conferma disponibilità del posto. Chiedo possibilità di opzionare per un giorno che mi viene confermata.
Richiamo e mi risponde una signora che abbastanza bruscamente mi dice “impossibile, non prendiamo prenotazioni per gruppi numerosi”. Le faccio presente che una sua collega mi aveva confermato disponibilità qualche giorno prima.. sua risposta “impossibile. Richiami tra 5 (!!!) giorni che verifichiamo ma lo escludo fin da ora”
Insomma.. scarsa professionalità, molta scortesia e nemmeno una mezza scusa per aver fatto perdere tempo.
13/10/2023: You can't beat the lakeside view, and you will love the imaginative cuisine. Our dinner included (besides amazing wheat bread) a delicate chanterelle mushroom soup, a wonderful creamy cauliflower vegetable course, and an amazing fresh lake "salmon trout", among other courses on the tasting menu. Wines are delicious. We took the ferry from Bellagio (dinner reservation opens 15 days in advance) and enjoyed the ride over/back and the walk along the lake. A highlight of our trip! Lovely people, delicious food, and a quiet lakeside evening. There are restaurant du lac eateries in almost every town on Lake Como. Be sure to choose the one in Varenna !
