Osteria Quatro Pass In Varenna

Characteristic little place in the historic center of Varenna. We only ate lake fish, truly delicious.... And it's not easy to delight with lake fish. Excellent service, friendly and helpful staff. Happy to have discovered a pearl of the lake.

We went for lunch and it was amazing! Got the salmon tagliatelle and the duck breast. The red wine was so smooth and fragrant, loved it!

I would rate more than 5 stars if possible. The waiters were very friendly and we got a table even without a reservation. The food almost gave me tears of joy. The pasta with smoked trout was so good I had to eat it as slow as possible so it would last longer. It was one of the best and most unique flavors I have ever tried. And the apple tart warmed my heart. Everything was absolutely perfect.

Food and service were great. The pike perch in panko was nice, the grilled vegetables as well. For desert, the tiramisu and the apple pie with ice cream were amazing. The sweet wine was also delicious

We contacted Osteria Quatro Pass about booking our wedding dinner after our original restaurant had let us down a few weeks before the big day. Immediately Chiara and her team couldn't have been more helpful emailing back and forth even offering to make our wedding cake! As we were planning everything for our small wedding in Italy from home in Ireland it was daunting not knowing how things would turn out. The service, staff and food at Quatro pass was outstanding, our guests are still raving about the amazing food! They helped us create a beautiful menu, gave us an intimate private room, helped us select wine pairings, decorated the room and even designed personalised printed menus for the table. This place truely is second to none and we can't wait to return the next time we are in lake como. Thank you to all the staff who made our wedding night so special. Grazie Mille!

Best meal we had in Italy, they have baby chair, very considerate and amazing atmosphere. The spaghetti is simply amazing! Highly recommended!

All very good, like the environment...!! Maybe a little expensive... but we are also in Varenna...

Excellent lunch!! The food was delicious, you can feel the quality, the best pumpkin gnocchi I've ever eaten!! And the kind service also makes everything really pleasant! Compliments!!!

Osteria Quatro Pass is on a quiet walking street below Via Venini, on the same street (Via XX Settembre) as Il Cavatappi, another outstanding restaurant in Varenna. Osteria Quatro Pass does not disappoint and deserves all the accolade it receives. They serve outstanding Italian cooking with seating indoor and at a few outdoor tables on the street. The restaurant ceiling is vaulted stone resembling a wine cellar, providing a warm, cozy atmosphere. The waitstaff is attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. My wife and I each tried different dishes, and all were superb. The only negative comment I have, and this is very minor, is that I felt our meals were served just a bit too fast. Not the slower, laid-back pace that is more typical of Italy. Reservations are a must but can be made by phone during open hours.

Recent reviews have said it all really. We popped in for lunch on a rainy day and what a find! A lovely relaxing setting, great service and gorgeous food and wine . We were not staying in the town but wish we had been able to go back !
