Osteria delle Rane Rosse In Settimo milanese

Excellent food, good service and with the TheFork discount exceptional value for money!

Located inside the DDS Sports Center in Settimo Milanese, the Osteria delle Rane Rosse welcomed us the other evening for a convivial dinner with 4 long-time friends. The sign looms large in the sports centre, while the entrance remains half-hidden in the small roundabout next to it, although not indicated by road signs. You park inside the Sports Center and, depending on the opening times, finding a parking space requires patience. The place is not large, even if it has outdoor tables with dehors, a warm environment in shades of red with scattered tables and a bar counter along the wall. Tablecloth and paper napkin and a basket of bread. The menu does not have a wide choice of dishes, but they are all interesting in the presentation on paper, worth trying in which case you have to return. Four of us ordered 2 appetizers called Antica Milano, consisting of 6 good quality meatballs each. Then we opted for a single dish each, choosing 3 first courses: an Antica Roma (the classic carbonara), a Fregene (a revisited carbonara with sautéed swordfish and lumpfish roe) and a Profumo d'Estate (buffalo ravioli and cherry tomatoes ), as well as a second 180° (effectively a mixed fry with calamari, shrimp and vegetables). Overall more than good quality for both the first and second courses (more vegetables than fish). Water at will, a zero coke, and 2 glasses (one white and one red). 4 desserts, 2 Tiramisu in a jar and 2 baked cheesecakes (still slightly cold, better served after a few minutes to enjoy the fragrance of the ricotta), as well as a coffee. Courteous and professional service. Quality / price ratio is not completely positive: prices from Milan (40 Euro each) despite being in Settimo Milanese; the quality of the dishes is still good and the portions are more than sufficient.

Al rientro di una piacevole giornata al Winter Jamboree cercavamo un ristorante sulla strada per casa e abbiamo optato per questa osteria. Abbiamo preso due antipasti e il chilo di manzo da dividerci in due… ottimi antipasti e carne di ottima scelta con la giusta cottura (al sangue), le verdure di contorno erano degne compagne dell’ottima cena. Il prezzo in linea con quello che abbiamo consumato, quindi nella media. Ci torneremo di sicuro per provare le altre pietanze. 👍

Prenotato all’ultimo minuto al rientro da una giornata fuori città. Locale delizioso, servizio molto curato e piatti sfiziosissimi! Abbiamo preso due prosecchi come aperitivo e ci hanno offerto due bignè ripieni di ricotta e carciofi. Antipasto polpette milanesi e porcino nascosto e a seguire una costata da un kg in due accompagnata da verdure grigliate e patate arrosto deliziose con dell’ottimo vino locale. Due dolci curati e “casalinghi” Siamo stati veramente bene ed é stata una piacevole scoperta … torneremo presto sicuramente
