beautiful farmhouse in the Langhe, apartment equipped with everything and kind host. only 2 flaws: - there is no bidet (I deduce for space reasons. - on the morning of check in at 8.30/9.00 the lights in the room suddenly turned on by themselves, probably to "warn" that we had to go out at 10.

I went for lunch on Sunday 5th May for the first time...a wonderful discovery... Crazy view and great food Everything was excellent, especially the friendly and helpful staff. There was a lady in the room with short hair. I must say, she was very nice and professional. I really liked the owners who I think are the two young guys, especially the guy with the glasses who served us the wine, you can see that he really loves what he does, very professional

We stayed at Agriturismo Il Cortile for three nights in early March in the Cascinotto suite that faces out towards the vineyards and the rolling hills of the Piedmont, framed in the distance by the epic backdrop of the snow covered alps. The view alone is worth the stay. The room was cozy, immaculate and new. The suite itself had everything you would need for an extended stay. We could have stayed for a week and we would have been completely comfortable. There was a small refrigerator and kitchenette with dishes/sink/stove top/microwave if you need to make food. You can pay for an additional breakfast fee where they stock the kitchen with salumi, cheese, pastries, sweets etc. which we did. It was nice if you are in and out all day on the go to have this as a quick bite in the morning or a quick snack before dinner. The room is large with plenty of space for two but if you had a third person it would be more than enough space as well. They provide a detailed book with instructions for the room and also recommendations of local wineries, places to eat and where to go on day trips. The bathroom was spacious and clean with plenty of space to put your toiletries on the sink top. It also had a washing machine which is always nice if needed. It is a great location if you are driving to go to places like Barolo, Alba and the other surrounding villages for wine tastings, sight seeing and going out to eat at night. Everything was within a 15-30 minute drive. There are a lot of amazing places we went to eat to try local Piedmontese cuisine but the restaurant attached to the agriturismo was incredible as well. The food and service was excellent. We were the only people there on the first night and we decided to do a tasting menu. I did the traditional tasting menu but you can also choose whatever you want off the menu rather than doing a tasting. The presentation of the food and the wine that the cameriere/sommelier recommended was all top notch. It’s one of those dining experiences that makes you pause and really appreciate the art of their regional cuisine. Depending on the time of day/night you will have a scenic, panoramic view of the hills while you dine. I would highly recommend if you are staying for multiple nights to book at least one night to eat here. As far as onsite staff goes (my apologies for forgetting her name) it might have been Martina but the young woman who worked at the front desk when we checked in was super nice and helpful. One of the owners Graziella was out pruning some of the early spring bloom from the trees on the property with her dogs that live there and when she saw me on the balcony spoke to me in Italian and was so nice to allow me to have a brief conversation with her in my very rudimentary Italian about the dogs, the views, our room and where we were from. She then knocked on our door and gave us a vase filled with some of the branches from the flowering trees on the vineyard. I do not have one negative word to say about our stay here. Graziella and her family and staff were all wonderful, warm and welcoming and this is reflected in the pride they take in the upkeep of the grounds, the rooms and how they treated us as guests. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of cities, especially if you are doing wine tastings in this region. Its a great way to take pause and relax a little.

Abbiamo optato per il menù della tradizione. Piatti buonissimi dall'antipasto fino al dolce. Location spettacolare con vista sulle colline.

Superlative location, excellent food, try the egg with white truffle and sublime guinea fowl breast!!! good wine list and even desserts have their reason!!! The only negative note is that the tables are too close together and you can hear other people's discussions... otherwise passed with flying colors and will return!!!

Ristorante Al Castagneto

30/03/2024: Very unique restaurant, and really delicious food. I have been to this restaurant several times, and each time I have been amazed by the quality of the food. At lunch, when the place is usually full of people, you can taste different types of appetizers, first courses or second courses. When there is a mushroom menu you can sample numerous mushrooms cooked in a truly excellent way, and all different. Obviously you can also just order a plate of pasta, but the truly special thing is being able to taste the many things that the family who runs the restaurant cooks. It is a home-style cuisine, like the one you usually find at home or in the villages. The place is also very particular, everything has remained as it was fifty years ago but, as the owner explained to us, not due to neglect or carelessness, but precisely by choice. The owners wanted to keep the place as it has been for many decades. There is a whole family that works in this restaurant, and everyone gives their best. The restaurant is very strange at first, when you don't know it. There is no menu, and the price of the food is unclear. But once you've tried it you'll want to go back every day because it's something you usually don't find anywhere. With €25/30 each you eat lots of different things, and you enjoy eating all these particular things. If you go to any restaurant for that amount you simply eat a second course and a beer, and it's a completely different thing. Don't go if you're looking for a modern, gourmet restaurant or one with sophisticated food. Go if you want to spend some time with friends and have fantastic but simple food. The cooks are exceptional. For dinner you can only eat early, around h. 7.30pm/8pm.
24/02/2024: Local cuisine, very friendly owner and staff
