Da Benito e Gilberto is probably the best Italian restaurant in Rome. Amazing! Just fyi, it is family owned and the majority of those who dine there is Italian. Though the server did not speak much English, one of the workers did. I think she was either the manager or hostess. Either way, I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. We did not have a reservation so they took our name and gave us a time to come back. We walked around the area for a bit then returned. They were so friendly and the food was out of this world amazing! The seafood is so fresh, better than anything I’ve had in North America. We had the clams and muscles in a garlic white wine sauce which was fantastic! The sauce was so good I could eat it like a soup!!!!!! Then I had the sardine stuffed pasta, which the lady said was her favorite and a side salad. The lettuce is unlike anything I’ve had in the US. It’s so flavorful and good and the tomatoes are garden fresh. So sweet and juicy and amazing! Then for desert they were out of the one I had initially picked, so the server recommended this little cake. This was my birthday dinner and boy was I impressed. The cake was like this little soufflé. It was so hot and sweetly fragrant. When I used my baby spoon to cut into it, it was like a lava cake only better than anything I’ve ever had. The cake part was really good. Not too sweet or anything. It was the right amount of everything, really. Not too dry or overcooked. Perfection. Truly. It had just the slightest caramelized texture on the outside, but soft and delicious at the same time. Inside, a hot sort of custard spilled out once I cut through it. Together was magic! I’ve never had anything like it!!!! I could eat there again anytime and be absolutely happy. My husband had the lobster pasta and was really pleased, then for dessert, he got the coffee gelato which was also amazing.

First time at this place. Very pleasant experience, the place is small, few tables, both inside and outside. The service was excellent, I really appreciated the open kitchen open onto the dining room. Dishes prepared with care, very fresh raw materials... here we only eat fish. We tried the appetizers (both raw and cooked excellent), the first courses, fried calamari and prawns and a mix of desserts... all excellent. I particularly recommend the pasta and sea beans...a dish to lose your head in. The portions are right, don't expect huge plates of stuff... The bill is adequate for the freshness of the food. Recommended restaurant.

A trusted friend recommended this restaurant and we almost didn’t keep our reservation because it was our last vacation day but THANK GOODNESS we did! Valentina and her family are wonderful and the food is fantastic! Plus, the seafood element is such a welcome change from everyday eating in Rome. Our clams bruschetta and mussels along with the mussels spaghetti were all more delicious than what we ate in Puglia the week prior! Add to this that on a gorgeous, sunny spring day we were able to eat outside AND enjoy rose wine from susumaniello grapes….it was a perfect end to a fabulous Italy vacation!

Very nice and intimate traditional fish restaurant. Very high quality fish, great variety of raw fish and oysters Super recommended. Excellent value for money. Very interesting wine list. We took: - 3 oysters each (total 12) exceptional - 2 scampi and 2 red prawns each (delicious) - bruschetta with clams and cherry tomatoes - 1 first course each (excellent) - 2 bottles of superior Frascati wine (very good) - 1 dessert Total €72 each

Ottimo ristorante di pesce vicino San Pietro. Locale intimo, piacevole serata. Siamo tornati più volte . Cozze e vongole incredibili, anche crudi e primi piatti veramente buoni. Super consigliato. Prezzi assolutamente accessibili per la qualità e la zona.

Sono tornato dopo qualche tempo in questo piccolo ristorante a due passi da San Pietro, e non posso che confermare che chi, come me, ama il pesce difficilmente trova altrove la loro qualità. Abbiamo iniziato con un ottimo carpaccio di spigola, orata e salmone, e a seguire un sauté di cozze e vongole. Come primo, una delle loro specialità: pasta e fagioli con frutti di mare, semplicemente eccellente. Come secondo, essendo già abbastanza sazi, un piatto di calamaretti alla griglia, così teneri da sembrare moscardini. Per finire, un buonissimo sorbetto al limone dalla consistenza vellutata. Ad innaffiare il tutto, un calice di Sauvignon ben ghiacciato. Conto più che ragionevole, soprattutto in relazione ad un pranzo completamente a base di pesce di alta qualità. Ci tornerò presto. P.S. Vorrei citare, come valore aggiunto, il servizio molto gentile e abbastanza rapido, nonostante tutti i tavoli fossero occupati, con una modesta attesa tra una portata e l'altra, che consentiva di gustare con la dovuta calma ogni piatto. Personalmente, poi, ho apprezzato molto il piatto tiepido con cui sono stati serviti i calamaretti. In altri locali spesso le pietanze si raffreddano subito sui piatti freddi.
