20/03/2024: Despite being a highly touristy place, Sfogliarina definitely presents high quality in its dishes. I had tortelloni with sauce and butter and then a dessert and both the plating and the taste were worth it. Young and courteous staff, there is a vast menu that allows you to range from the most classic traditional dishes to gourmet and revisited ones. Luckily I didn't wait long this time to get a seat (if you're alone the sharing table is crazy, I really liked this idea), but I would queue again to eat in this very nice place. 🙌🏼💕

22/03/2024: Local cuisine from Reggio Emilia, with some welcome variations. Lunch with fried gnocco, raw ham and coppa (good), green lasagne with venison sauce (good). Nice place, efficient service, good value for money.

16/03/2024: Opened in 1934 by Agnese and Amerigo this Trattoria between Modena and Bologna remains one of the area's most regarded, a single Michelin Star despite casual confines and service attesting to Food prepared by a kitchen that cares.
Built on tradition and simplicity, but evolving over the past 90 years to include several "signatures," the current menu offers a retrospective including handmade Pastas, Wild Game and everything sourced from the nearby hills, vines and forests.
Offering menus in English for the occasional tourist, though the vast majority of patrons hail from nearby, it is once the entrance is located that guests sit amidst warm confines listening to quiet chat and a bell dinging in the kitchen to announce each plate.
Fit with a good cellar of Italian Wines at fair prices, a pair of Rieslings well-suited to fried cuts from the Pig’s Head and Polenta matchsticks draped in Lardo, Amerigo’s Tortellini en Brodo arrives piping hot with delicate Dumplings afloat in Broth as rich as it is clear.
Not forgetting housemade Bread that needs no accompaniment, plus a tiny “Bread Cake” Amuse, no visit to Bologna should occur without sampling Bolognese as it ought to be eaten while Pumpkin Ravioli with Duck Ragu is equally delicious.
Also offering Mallard as the day’s local game, though Fallow Deer shot nearby proves more compelling, Desserts dial in on classics including Zuppa Inglese and Fior di Latte made to resemble Flan while the Egg Yolk Gelato “Like the Old Days” is indelible.

❤️PRO:
- Excellent pumpkin tortelloni
- Excellent gnocco and tigelle
- Excellent cold cuts
- Excellent wine
- friendly and nice service, very familiar.
💬CONS/IMPROVEMENTS:
💔The first time the table service was not effective, as we were left without a dish twice and the waiters changed each time, always asking the same questions and having to give the answer several times "do you want coffee or dessert?, yes we have already told everyone 'other waiter"... and so on 3 times.
💛It would be great to be looked after by the same waiter from start to finish.
-the other times the service improved as above, so everything was ok.
-lemon sorbet can be improved, making it creamier and less "icey"
PRICES:
- average.
We spent around 27 euros without taking important seconds but with:
- one starter each <3 people>
- 5 gnocchi and 10 tigelle
- sliced ham
- stracchino
- a 375 ml bottle of pignoletto
- two desserts
- waterfall.
🤩 Overall we enjoyed it. We will definitely be back.

19/03/2024: Superlative!! We booked a dinner for 2 people at Arnaldo's and it was a wonderful experience. Very refined and refined location, impeccable service. We both did the tasting menu and they really brought us a lot of food, a wide choice with trolleys for appetizers, 2 first courses, boiled and roast trolley, dessert trolley with a very wide choice here too and then a digestive. Definitely an experience to do and repeat every now and then to pamper yourself a little.

Good ravioli and tortellini, but the real guest star is the so called ”Bollito misto” which is brought here as in the old style, with the waiter bringing the whole selection of different kind of meat from the bollito with a selection of traditional sauces.
Service is normal, kind and simple.
Recommended

19/03/2024: Given that we went to the Hostaria del pig on the recommendation of an acquaintance of ours.
Quite varied menu, terrible service managed by very young waiters (interns), disoriented and unprofessional.
We had to ask for bread several times, the cold cuts platter was good but served without the slightest explanation, the quality of the other dishes chosen was very poor.
It was a terrible experience.
Not recommended.

11/03/2024: The food is certainly of high quality and tradition reigns supreme. The courses are varied and find a balance between classic and originality. The environment is welcoming. The service is kind, but it depends a lot on who serves you: initially we met a person who was not entirely "proactive". With others we did better. Overall, I recommend!

23/03/2024: Entering the Bar Cantone, you immediately notice the billiard tables. Soft lights and even a Serie A championship in progress. But there is no time to stop, just at the back the room of a quiet trattoria welcomes you.
If the large blackboard on which the menu is written leaves you in any doubt, don't worry, ask the two girls in the dining room for advice who explain the dishes so well that you can already taste them. Unmissable fried gnocco with delicious locally produced cold cuts, delicious macaroni al comb with rib ragù, tasty green ravioli with balsamic vinegar... the good kind....
The rest of the delicacies and desserts will be for next time... We will definitely be back on our way back from the north to Rome
18/03/2024: purtroppo da qualche tempo la qualità del cibo di questo ristorante è calata. Primi pieni di condimenti inutili, carne alla griglia arrivata fredda e con scelta carni troppo banale. Serata in cui c'erano tavolate grandi, è vero, ma in passato si mangiava molto meglio. Conto finale troppo alto per quello che ci hanno proposto.
