01/04/2024: My partner and I spent Easter Sunday here. Even though the place was packed, we waited very little to get a table, they served in excellent time and the quality of the food was AMAZING!!! They really made sure it was an unforgettable Easter Sunday. Everyone was kind and courteous, a beautiful and welcoming family. Thank you for demonstrating and reminding us what it's like to have lunch in a place where you work with passion. 🤗

13/03/2024: Ritorno per la seconda volta in questo meraviglioso locale. Eccellente e celere il servizio ; spettacolari i piatti, con prodotti chiaramente del luogo. Vivi veramente una esperienza grazie anche alla gentilezza del titolare. Unico problema : è veramente difficile trovare posto. Il locale non è grandissimo ed è sempre pieno, a testimonianza della bontà della cucina. Buona vita

07/01/2024: Un pranzo davvero eccellente presso il ristorante della famiglia Barbieri che da anni si impegna a promuovere le tipicità della propria regione. Una carrellata di antipasti caldi, i funghi la fanno da padrona, un primo con pasta fatta in casa, agnello ai ferri con contorno e per concludere un dolce squisito con pasta frolla, crema e frutti freschi. Ci torneremo sicuramente!

02/04/2024: Stunning location in the Siderno countryside. We ate outdoors, helped by the pleasant day, under citrus trees, surrounded by nature, all very relaxing. Fixed menu based on the local products found, so everything is very fresh and genuine. As an appetizer, various cured meats and cheeses, while the ricotta is still warm! Crispy and dry aubergine, potato and pumpkin meatballs. As a first course, macaroni with super tasty cherry tomatoes, very simple but delicious! As a second course, meat stew, well cooked but I must say that the portion was a little small, 2/3 small pieces each with bone... side dish not received... but would have been appreciated. The portions in my opinion need to be reviewed. For dessert, a kind of homemade creme brulee, I really liked it. I could have given more to the service given that the owner is very nice and friendly but some of the answers to our requests could have been formulated in a better way. Local wine but good. All €35 each, also considering the day of celebration I would say in line.

25/03/2024: Ristorante molto particolare ed eccellente. Piatti a km zero e frutto di una ricerca dei sapori ed ingredienti antichi. I piatti non vengono portati su ordinazione dei clienti, lo chef, sicuro che nessuna pietanza proposta tornerà indietro, porta a tavola i piatti preparati che sono vari, abbondanti ed tutti eccezionali. Abbiamo pagato 30 € a persona compreso il vino. In più lo chef ci ha allietato con canzoni e strumenti musicali, ovviamente ach'essi frutto di una ricerca di melodie e strumenti della tradizione popolare. Super consigliato

24/03/2024: Once upon a time it was Il Carpaccio... always chosen for my occasions. But the last time I went, frankly it was disappointing...small portions, some dishes even forgotten, long waiting times...portions arrived cold and watered down (tagliolini with truffle and fusilli with goat sauce). The manager apologized by justifying the absence of staff, however from the point of view of the paying customer (also expensive) it is not conceivable... I'm sorry but I think I won't go back again.

17/03/2024: I returned to this restaurant after a few years. Unfortunately, with great regret I have to say that it is no longer as good as it once was. The starter, which was once worth the 25 km journey alone, has become very modest and for 20 euros is really poor. The potatoes are good but the service is really poor and very slow. Unfortunately I don't think I'll return again. I am sorry.

06/04/2024: Small but very welcoming place, the owner really kind. I had lunch with my family in March, choosing a starter and a first course, traditional but truly delicious dishes. The final bill was more than honest. What can I say, we will be back.

14/03/2024: It is a very characteristic place. The owner, a nice and frank gentleman, advised us to try the starter and first course, all homemade. Simple and tasty products that make you feel the true flavor of Calabria.

19/02/2024: Le serate trascorse al Desiderio sono sempre piacevoli. L'accoglienza amichevole di Salvatore e il buon cibo della tradizione calabrese, rendono il locale il luogo ideale dove ritrovarsi in famiglia o con gli amici. La qualità non è mai venuta meno nel corso degli anni e questo dimostra l'attenzione al cliente e la professionalità nel gestire un'attività complessa. Consiglio vivamente il Desiderio, sia per pranzi e cene che per una pizza tra amici.

06/04/2024: We were at the village festival and it was already late for lunch. They were very kind to let us have lunch despite the hour. The very characteristic place, near the mother church. Good food, friendly and professional staff.

07/11/2023: Hidden place but definitely worth a try. There is no menu because the proposals are based on the catch, so freshness is guaranteed. We ate a mixed fish starter with marinated anchovies, creamed cod, anchovies and peppers, seafood fritters and breaded prawn tails with the addition of a portion of raw red prawn, phenomenal! As a first course, delicious and tasty parmesan and truffle linguine and spaghetti with clams and musdea, a truly special recipe worth trying. For the second course, a good mixed fried dish. A peculiarity that should not be underestimated is that the owner gives the possibility of organizing boat fishing and truffle hunting trips, we will certainly try them next year. The friendly and attentive staff contributed to the pleasant evening. VERY HONEST account, we spent the right amount, obviously taking into account that to eat good fresh and well-processed fish you cannot think of spending like eating a pizza. In addition to recommending the place, we assure you that next year it will be one of the obligatory stops.

03/03/2024: Typical Calabrian cuisine, absolutely worth trying is the chicken al bricko with potatoes, authentic flavors like in the past, a dive into the cuisine of the past. I was there for about a summer when I was 16 and I haven't forgotten that evening, a friend brought me and I still remember the courtesy of the lady who came to the table to have a chat, a beautiful evening, unforgettable. If there is an opportunity, I will gladly return to taste the fantastic dishes and spend a beautiful place dedicated to typical Calabrian cuisine that will always remain in my heart. Marvelous.

24/02/2024: Local in the center of the beautiful town of Palmi. Original, tasty and well presented dishes. First of all, as soon as you are seated, they take care of taking your coats and offer the opportunity of a bag rest. Then follows the table service with the arrangement of the ordered dishes without anyone coming to give the master's lecture on "quantum mechanics on the reduction of fish broth in low-mineral water distilled and aged in Aspromonte oak barrels". Finally a place where the talented chef doesn't need to feel like a Cracco! I highly recommend it: your palate will thank you!

Locale aperto anche ai giovani, desiderosi di gustare una cucina che con ingredienti tradizionali riesce ancora a stupire. La cantina…è pure giovane…
