11/03/2024: Convinced of entering a somewhat touristy place, given the location, I had simple expectations, if not a distant fear of not eating well: I definitely had to change my mind. Il Caminetto surprised me with very well-executed cuisine, made up of strong flavors and quality raw materials: the anolini were exceptional, immersed in an extraordinary broth, the braised meat with the accompanying fried polenta was delicious, the vegetable gardener was fantastic and of a high standard all the second courses of meat arrived at the table. The irresistible loose gutturnio, young, genuine and peasant wine, literally went down the drain, drunk from traditional bowls; the final bill was very honest. Above all this, a warm, histrionic, sincere, cheerful and full of life presence, that of Barbara, a true host, an incredible person and perfect in her job like few others are, capable of flawlessly keeping a table of 11 at bay. people with an enviable professionalism and to entertain him joyfully as if it were the simplest thing in the world: a few minutes are enough to love them and wish that this tavern would magically teleport under your house, hundreds of kilometers away, so that we could eat all the evenings!
11/03/2024: I don't think I have ever found such a perfect hostess, she contributed significantly to making the day wonderful. They were all truly exquisite but her name, I seem to remember, is Barbara, histrionic without ever being excessively present. He was able to please everyone and was then able to bring order to the boss, which was impossible with my family given that between the noise and chaos right at the moment of ordering, we make this moment a bit stressful. Cuisine absolutely up to Barbara's standards, including anolini with exceptional broth and filling, excellent quality tartare as well as braised meat, which was in the proposals of the day, or even gnocchi with ricotta in the dough. My parents loved the former so much that they reordered them instead of the latter! I didn't want to give in to dessert but when they told me about the eggnog semifreddo, a dessert that I love, I immediately chose it and it went beyond expectations. Gutturnio that goes down is a joy, in the beautiful bowls that I would have brought home. The bill, commensurate with the quality of the raw materials and the very long cooking times, I find more than honest. It was definitely a dinner that I will remember forever although I hope it won't be the only occasion even if the kilometers that separate us are considerable. I would return to the area just for them, especially Barbara, she is worth a precious treasure. Thank you for making us experience such a fulfilling evening.
Ps at the end of the evening and when it was time to say goodbye, I have never seen my 4 year old niece waiting her turn to kiss a stranger. Never. Barbara is splendid with her too
