From the moment we walked in we were treated to a wonderful experience! Attentive, discreet, friendly and highly informed staff. We chose the 7 course tasting menu and it was out of this world, especially the pesce crudo. It was the highlight of our trip to Venice and I would definitely recommend. Book ahead.

Outstanding food meets outstanding service in this traditional Venetian restaurant that feels like home.
Our crudo was incredibly fresh, the crab pasta melted in your mouth and the sole was perfectly cooked.
Our best culinary experience in the city by a mile.

Food, service, atmosphere = A++
Recommendations on point, food quality fantastic, clientele also good. The team are amazing, as a solo traveller I haven't experienced service like this in Italy, anywhere else!

The service at Al Covo is exceptional. Bunch of amazing servers. We had the tasting menu and enjoyed most of the 7 course except for one dish which was one of the main course, it was a fried crab dish. The wine selection is also great. Highly recommended from us.

Wait staff was the star of the show. Food a reasonable supporting cast, but no fear of stealing the show. Rules printed in bold on the bottom of the (English) menu were off putting - “minimum 2 courses per person, €8 cover charge per person unless each person spent at least €60, gratuities not included in price”. Of our 14 meals out in Venice, the highest coperto (cover charge) was €2 per person and tipping is not at all customary in Italy (or anywhere in Europe for that matter). Given these strangle “rules”, I can only guess the restaurant has seen 1 too many cruise ship senior citizens ordering an appetizer and a glass of wine only to occupy a table for a few hours…? Sadly would not return.

When quality emerges, everything else is boring. It might seem like a banal phrase but instead this restaurant expresses the best of Venetian tradition. A courteous, highly professional service denotes that the customer is at the center of their work and not a simple tourist to be "ripped off". The creamed cod is excellent as a starter, followed by high-quality crab tagliolini. And what about desserts?! Space.....
The wine list is extensive, where my choice went to the "cousins" in nearby Friuli, Venice will not be offended.....
I would like to thank the owner and the kind lady for the welcome and courtesy shown, a sign of great respect, a "commodity" now rare in this consumerist world...

Era molto che avevo messo in conto di provare questo ristorante e devo dire che la visita ha meritato assolutamente. Ottimo il cibo. Ho preso (dividendo) l’antipasto di crudo con branzino e gamberi rossi, i gnocchetti ai polipetti, la sogliola arrotolata e il semifreddo alla grappa. Servizio impeccabile. Prezzi alti ma meritati. Interni gradevoli e accoglienti.

The first night of a 2 day trip celebrating anniversary. We had an enjoyable meal, starting with the friendliest of welcomes, good service, wine and food. Quite expensive.
