06/05/2024: We came here on two separate evenings and really enjoyed it. Max and the team provide excellent service. Their bread (includes focaccia) was the best one we had tried during our trip. The fusiolloni ragu, bread soup and octopus were delicious and would highly recommended. Everything else also tasted nice; as a pistachio fan, the pistachio mousse was not very pistachio forward (tasted more like a white chocolate mousse)

20/05/2024: We had one of our best and most fun dinners in Tuscany at Bengodi. This is a small and very authentic restaurant. Red, the owner, was a very special host. When we sat down he told us this would be a dinner we would not forget and he was right. He described the menu in great detail, including the source of the very local ingredients for every item. Red was also very passionate about wine and all of his recommendations were spot on. We will be sure to come back to this part of Tuscany so that we can come back to Bengodi.

19/05/2024: We went to Bengodi as a foursome each celebrating special occasions a 15 year wedding anniversary and an engagement. Red, at Bengodi gave us a truly special dinner to mark the moment. Each dish was delectable my favorite was the pici pesto which melted in your mouth. Red’s service and attention to our table truly made the evening. He even let us pick music to play during the evening. His knowledge of wine was impeccable choosing great pairings for our meal and ultimately helped us to pick out a case to ship back to the US. He even took care of ensuring the case got shipped. If you are thinking of stopping at Bengodi, think no more you will not be disappointed. This place is truly an Italian gem and a memory for our engagement I will never forget. Thank you, Red !

25/05/2024: We loved the warmth and authenticity of this restaurant. The dishes were absolutely delicious, tuscan style but with an inventive twist. Loved the wine list - set out in distance from the restaurant - showcasing local produce. The setting is whimsical. You'll find a traditional vino window just up the road. Would highly recommend!

08/05/2024: Place reported by a local person. Excellent welcome. I didn't have a full lunch but just ate a freshly prepared finocchiona sandwich (excellent! 😋) and drank a beer. Maximum kindness and availability of the owner. Rooms furnished with taste, without unnecessary pomp. I did not enter the restaurant room, adjacent to the entrance and the bar. Possibility to sit outside too. The coffee is also good. If I'm in the area again (who knows?) I'll definitely stop in again.

07/05/2024: We got caught in heavy rain with our e-bikes and also were low on battery. Without hesitation they let us charge our batteries. We had a pannini and a pizza which both were delicious. And they let us stay until we were charged enough for the rest of the travel. Mille grazie!

30/03/2024: Simple but well kept place. Very intimate and clean. We ate a very good and varied starter platter. Malfatti and grilled lamb. All accompanied with a bottle of classic chianti. The staff was very courteous, efficient and pleasant. Everything is cooked freshly so don't rush to enjoy your evening.

25/03/2024: Food was amazing , great gluten free options. I was also served gluten free bread. We were very lucky with the weather too and dined outside a beautiful backdrop scenic view.

19/10/2023: Lovely restaurant in a rural setting that serves local specialties. We had the choice between various antipasti dishes, meat, fish and pasta. The interior of the restaurant looked authentic and was tastefully decorated. The meal was good value for money, considering they serve pasta with truffles. I personally cannot praise the tagliatelle al salmone with their lemon-y note enough, it was so tasty. The staff were very polite as well.

10/10/2023: Popped in for lunch on way back from a morning out. Not busy so we’re seated and served quickly. The waiter had limited English, but better than my Italian! We had a light lunch, bruschetta, salmon tagliatelle and a seafood risotto. All perfectly fine and under E50

07/10/2023: Red tuna with vegetable caponata a delicacy, superb Sicilian cannoli! Friendly, polite and helpful staff, clean and quiet environment! Thanks to chef Agostino who recommended the dishes to us!! Super Recommended!!!

29/09/2023: We were extremely disappointed with the service which was very rude & loud. Unlike most Italians who try to be accommodating, we were told that we were not being respectful as we wanted just a light snack & not a full meal. The attempt to find a compromise was a disaster!! By this time everyone had lost their appetite, and by the time we got the bill for the drinks we’d ordered beforehand, we were totally disgusted!!

03/01/2024: Gemütliches Ambiente. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Grosse Auswahl an Bistecca Fiorentia. Preis/Leistung stimmt voll und ganz. Auch sonst ein gutes Angebot. Die Bedienung war sehr effizient und nett. Die Weinkarte kann sich auch sehen lassen. Super toskanische Weie aus der Umgebung.

01/04/2024: Very nice restaurant, we stopped for something to eat and were pleasantly surprised, the environment is traditional and is capable of immersing you in what is Pienza. I don't give 5 stars just because of the slightly touristy price, but the food is worth it.

08/05/2024: Normally a Michelin star is a pretty good guide to the quality of a restaurant but sadly we were very disappointed by the food here. It takes a chef with an excellent palate to put together dishes which have unusual ingredients so that the results are interesting but still have great taste and flavour. The majority of the dishes on our tasting menu were either totally lacking in flavour or had an ingredient that was so overpowering that nothing else could be tasted. The exception was a quail dish that was excellent but even that had the unnecessary addition of grapefruit and an incredibly bitter herb. I think the chef is just trying too hard to make these combinations without checking the overall balance of the dish. On a positive note there is a decent pastry chef in kitchen as deserts were very good. Service was good and the restaurant is very attractive. We were well looked after but the food is well below expectations for a star.

11/10/2023: We are staying at the Vila Curina Resort and went to eat in the restaurant on our arrival evening. The service was very good, the food and drink selection offered something for everyone. The wine list is extensive, including the price structure. The food was very good in terms of taste and appearance, and the service was attentive. Overall quite expensive but appropriate for the location and the ambience.
