30/04/2024: Amazing view, very good wine together with prosciutto and cheese and other goods typical for the region. Next to the bar is a shop with local goods with reasonable prices. The servant was super helpful and advised us what wine to buy to take back home. A must stop if you are passing by.

the sales assistant who served us was very nice and prepared.
we spent very little, accustomed to other prices on the market.
we will return and recommend it

02/04/2024: We ate last night: rubbery and raw pizza, of poor quality. Service: they didn't really consider us, perhaps because there were only 2 of us. They always went around the large tables. Sin!

The food is good and the waitresses are helpful as is the owner.
The environment is very popular.
Prices a little above the average for the area.
15/05/2024: Lack of seriousness in managing online reservations. Tried to make a reservation with TheFork but reservation canceled by the venue after four hours.
Edit: having TheFork is not an obligation... if you don't like it, remove yourself from the app...

13/01/2024: I've been there on New Year's Eve and, together with some friends, bought some local products (wine and cheese), spending a substantial amount and then went away. When 15 minutes later we decided to get back in the store/restaurant/osteria (???) trying to have a celebration glass of wine to toast the new year approaching, we were told, despite the fact that no table inside was occupied by any punter whatsoever and we had been there already spending some cash, that unless we were eating something, we couldn't have a glass of wine there. Nothing like that was specified on the menu hanging outside, about this "rule", bear in mind! Pity, perhaps the proprietors don't want business, because they make enough money with the wine and cheese they sell inside? Well, if that is the case, pleased for them. It would be just nice to advise customers that you are not entitled to have drinks, unless you have food..
08/01/2024: Ho pranzato in questo locale con il mio compagno in occasione di una gita a Montemerano. Abbiamo mangiato all'esterno, con vista sulla via principale, in totale tranquillità. Il servizio è molto cordiale. Abbiamo gustato un ottimo tagliere di salumi e formaggi locali, crostini toscani e una crostata cioccolato e arancia davvero strepitosa, il tutto accompagnato da del buon vino del posto. I prezzi sono nella media.

16/01/2024: Entri e sei nel posto giusto. Ambiente country ricercato . Accoglienza calda e cortese con l’eleganza di altri tempi della Sig.ra Anna . Servizio attento e professionale. Dalla cucina piatti stellati per preparazione e presentazione. Ottima cantina. Nei ristoranti offrono cibo qui troverete anche AMORE. Un amore incredibile per il loro lavoro. Complimenti per questa esperienza sensoriale.

E' quindi difficile spiccare, spuntando un 5 stelle, da chi le ha provate tutte o quasi in 30 anni di frequentazione ...
Eppure, nel delizioso borgo rinascimentale di Montemerano, questo ristorante riesce ad inserirsi di prepotenza tra i migliori ...
Location country chic, ma senza gli artifici e le velleitarietà di certi locali da radicalchic che si trovano da queste parti ...
Traspare subito il calore di un locale accogliente e ben arredato, con vista mozzafiato sulla vallata e sulle colline che circondano Montemerano
Menu classico maremmano (crostini, prosciuttino, pappardelle, maialino, ecc), tutto eccellente e a Km zero, con vino rosso della casa di buon livello ... il conto è nella media dei migliori locali della zona ....
Bravi ! Ci torno la prx estate con gli amici, anche per verificare come si sta nella terrazza al piano di sotto !

21/05/2024: We found a refined environment with professional and welcoming staff. They managed to get my husband to eat vegetables. They were too good. I recommend the molecular cream spheres for dessert. And last but not least, a very welcome gift: a bottle of an excellent organic oil

14/04/2024: A little hidden among the streets of the village of Montemerano, this brewery left us pleasantly surprised. Very helpful and friendly staff and truly excellent and high quality beers (as well as agricultural ones). It was supposed to be an aperitif then it turned into dinner so I can also highly recommend the cold cuts platters. To top it all off, there is also an evening of live music organized by the owners. Absolutely highly recommended.
The only flaw was the lack of opening hours, we waited outside for half an hour without hearing anything but it was worth it.

28/11/2023: When I pass through Manciano it has become a "must" to come and eat and drink good wine at Claudio, who together with Paola manage this small wine shop in the heart of Manciano. Claudio is a unique character, the difference can be seen when a person loves their job. The commitment to researching unique and niche products makes this place, in my opinion, excellent. Obviously it is possible to buy the cheeses and cured meats that are there, as well as the excellent wine. I recommend trying the mixed platter and the tartare. See you soon!
16/11/2023: Abbiamo preso un aperitivo con annesso tagliere, gustosissimo, salumi freschi e locali…per non parlare del formaggio 🧀 direi una compilazione vincente e genuina😍 tappa fissa prima di andare a Manciano in centro storico ❤️

26/10/2023: Il grande "Poeta" Danilo titolare del Capriccio non si smentisce mai.... accoglienza,professionalità e....poche parole ma tanti fatti...anche qst volta ci ha deliziati con la ns voglia di assoporare il buin tartufo bianco. Una certezza x chi passa nelle zone di Saturnia!!!

10/03/2024: We ordered a Quattro Formaggi pizza and got a "huge piece of thin bread" with a bit of cheese on top. That little cheese wouldn't fill even a mouse. In addition, the pizza (a huge piece of thin bread) was very dry. Attention, if the normal pizza size is not enough for you, then you should order another pizza. Because the other pizza sizes are complete rip-offs.

They don't do pizzas for lunch
We were the only ones in the restaurant, so the service was quite fast, but the waiter was pestering constantly asking questions about the television, music, insisting on giving us something other than water to drink, or anything interrupting our conversations while we waited.
We ate fried foods, ravioli and hamburgers
They brought us an extra portion of unrequested fried food and an extra portion of ravioli, again unrequested, obviously making us pay for the unrequested portion as well and tormenting us with speeches followed by turning their backs on us while adding dishes to the bill.
Everything was clearly defrosted and reheated
The mixed fried meat was still good, but the ravioli with butter were tasteless, while the ragù was inedible. I had never tasted a ragù that manages to be too sweet and too salty at the same time.
The position of the ravioli was literally two each plus 3 cannelloni (there were 4 of us) not requested to apologize for the dose, not requested since we wanted one less. The cannelloni were clearly defrosted, covered in puree and served, without cooking the puree or blending the ingredients, without melting the cheese inside a little or adding anything worthy of a restaurant.
The hamburger is on the menu, but they don't know what a sandwich is, if you explain in detail how it is made, a good result will come out

07/04/2024: Codesta trattoria ben visibile al viandante di conferma posto accogliente e di piatti sinceri. Servizio cortese e famigliare. Pietanze ben cucinate. Carne e primi di molto buono. Prezzi contenuti. Insomma la classica sosta raccomandata.
