26/03/2024: We found this beach by specifically looking for a less crowded beach, as it was a Saturday in July. The location is just outside the town center and can be reached in a few minutes by car from Torre dell'orso. Paid parking costs €5 per day. Continuing on the right from the car park, you will find the San Basilio lido with the restaurant and bar, where you can rent an umbrella and two deckchairs for €25 (July price), starting from the third row. Don't be fooled if you see the beach half-empty in the morning: many people book umbrellas in advance to arrive calmly even after lunch. However, all in all, since the sea is so clear, it is a well-served and less crowded beach than the others. The sea is splendid. We found the day to be windy so the sea was a little rough, but as the water was shallow and the seabed was white sand, the water was still transparent. The cold shower costs 50 cents. Right, because this way you don't waste water rinsing the games and you don't create waiting lines. The "San Basilio" restaurant offers a wide choice of fish dishes and local wines. While waiting for the dishes, I recommend taking an appetizer of battered vegetables (a crunchy delight of various vegetables with a light lemon aftertaste). We took a vegetable appetizer, two linguine with clams and bottarga, a sea bream in a potato crust with spinach, 2 waters, the Chardonnay white wine "Tormaresca", a portion of watermelon, coffee, grappa for two and we spent the total for lunch €99. In my opinion, it's right, without exaggerating, considering in addition to the good quality, also the very fast service and without much waiting. Among other things, the owner kindly offered us two correct coffees at the end (we had already paid the bill and had stayed a little longer). I update my review: after a few days that we toured the beautiful beaches of Salento (Alimini, Baia dei Turchi, Due Sorelle), I confirm my review in full: it is one of the most beautiful sandy beaches of Salento on the Adriatic Sea (in my opinion also the best), where you will find the clear sea, the well-kept and clean beach, with the restaurant overlooking the sea and very good cuisine. There is also a massage service and holistic treatments. A cabin next to the restaurant, where you can enjoy one of the treatments of your choice. I also liked the fact that it is one of the few beaches that remains a bit "simple", in the sense that there is no entertainment with animation etc.. truly relaxing!

19/03/2024: We were totally thrilled. Service 1 A with recommendations for the menu. The starter of mussels, beautifully prepared and delicious. For the main course we had pizza. What can I say... 5 stars from me. The shop is simple with flair and you immediately feel at home. After a day we had to go back. This time we treated ourselves to the delicious homemade pasta. Mega!

25/03/2024: We stayed in this sort of campsite during the August holiday period. What can I say... a nightmare! All curtains stuck together, people talking loudly at 3 in the morning. I have never "slept" so badly in my life. I honestly don't understand all these positive reviews... Ah, terrible location, in the middle of a highway where they whiz by at high speed even at night. I don't recommend. P.S. I respond to the owner's response: 1) we were away on the night of August 15th, I was talking about all the other nights (I wasn't the only one to complain) 2) we did not choose the tent location, it was assigned to us 3) I wrote the review now because I had already written it some time ago and who knows why it was reported (meh) 4) I've been going camping for 20 years, touring all over Italy and something like this has never happened to me! 5) if we weren't stuck together for you, why could I hear EVERYTHING from the nearby tents? There are no rules, gate open all night, people talking until 3/4 in the morning (I'm not talking about mid-August). I think you need to rethink your idea of ​​camping.

08/10/2023: Pleasant confirmation for this farmhouse which reaches high levels of quality and service. To underline an appreciated commercial gesture received for one burnt pizza out of 7 ordered. We didn't protest about this, on the contrary, but the girl, realizing that the pizza had not been consumed, eliminated it from the final bill. This is also why they stand out for their loyalty and stand out for their care towards the customer.

23/05/2024: Wonderful discovery where I celebrated my birthday following instructions received from a relative. We had lunch inside even though the restaurant has outdoor tables overlooking the pedestrian street. Fish-based lunch agreed in advance with quality and quantity starters and first courses. The wine list is good and also has, albeit few, non-local labels. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We had a good time.

22/12/2023: I fell in love with him!!!! 3 of us went yesterday, myself and two other colleagues, the two of us from Campania and our colleague from Sarda Doc. We relied on her to choose the dishes and what arrived at the table was not mouth-watering, more so!! A sheep with ragù so good that we had to ask for another basket of bread (which isn't bread but pieces of pizza without toppings is fantastic) to even brush the pan. There was supposed to be nothing left. Spectacular culurgiones with ragù and pecorino were truly the death of him. Since we wanted to try everything, we also ordered dessert, I thought the Seadas were good but I didn't expect so much goodness! I would have eaten 3 more! We were persuaded to try the Mirto to finish (I never drink liqueurs or similar) and that was also very good. Very quick, helpful and above all friendly staff, we even had a chat at the cash register. Price more than fair, in fact I was afraid that we had exaggerated with the expense. I will definitely be back🥰😍
