Triclinium Taverna Romana In Pisa

After being in Italy for a couple of weeks already we popped in for lunch and had one of the most enjoyable meals yet! We weren't entirely sure what we were going to get when it came out but it was really tasty. The owner is a great character and even played us some songs on his guitar. Highly recommend a visit.

We had a great evening in this restaurant. The food was fantastic. Not only was the often mentioned carbonara great, but the penne with pesto and lemon was also incredible. But it wasn't just the food that made our evening so perfect. We were lucky that the owner brought out his guitar and sang for us.

Be careful though, Alessandro, before having a chat with you, will want to let his pans in the kitchen do the talking, while he prepares the magnificent dishes on his menu. I tried the famous imperial carbonara and it was a triumph of flavour, heralded by Alessandro's masterful pan-frying, in which the egg embraced the bacon, giving the right amount of mouth watering that anticipated the arrival of a simple, formidable dish with strong flavours. . I found it very pleasant not only to enjoy the culinary offerings of this place, but above all to learn about Alessandro's life experience, with a conversation between owner and customer that is based precisely on the authenticity of the meeting. What can I say, if you are looking for an informal place where the dishes do the talking, with strong flavors and extra portions, this is the right place if you want to feel like you are in Rome despite being in Pisa 🙂

Brilliant service and really lovely food

Estábamos cerca del restaurante a hora de comer y fuimos a probarlo guiados por las buenas valoraciones, llamé primero para asegurarme, al ver que la gente decía que era muy pequeño y con muy pequeño se quedaron cortos, había 2-3 mesas fuera y 4 mesas dentro, afortunadamente me guardó una mesa por unos minutos. El local es muy peculiar, parece una taberna romana de verdad por el estado del local, pero la comida estuvo buena y el propietario fue muy amable y servicial, no había nadie más en el establecimiento y según nos explicó había tenido un problema técnico y estaba esperando a que viniesen a solucionarle, por lo que sólo nos podía ofrecer espagueti carbonara o amatriciana. Escogimos la carbonara y estaba muy buena la verdad, el vino es el de toda la vida, te rellena él la vasija de cristal del vino que tiene a granel y no estaba nada mal. Local muy curioso y propietario muy peculiar, divertido, una buena experiencia. Calidad precio muy bien, postres no probamos porque teníamos un poco de prisa.
