We had lunch at Trattoria Valtellinese in Tirano, located in the province of Sondrio, on a Sunday lunch. The restaurant is located in the city center and has a discreet exterior on the ground floor of a building, with a sign painted on the wall with an orange background. As soon as you cross the threshold, you are surrounded by a welcoming and traditional atmosphere. Having booked in advance, we were quickly seated in a spacious room with a vaulted ceiling, while one wall was decorated with a painting depicting a typical ancient Valtellina valley. We chose to enjoy a delicious risotto with bitto cream and bresaola, as well as a sliced ​​beef with porcini mushrooms. The risotto was perfectly cooked and full of flavour, with the bitto cream delicately blended with the shredded bresaola, resulting in an exceptional dish. The cut turned out to be a real surprise: the meat was very tender, impeccably cooked with a delicious crust that made it incredibly succulent. The fresh porcini mushrooms were perfectly prepared, with a slightly crunchy texture, and accompanied by a tasty sauce that tied them together beautifully. The service was fast and extremely kind, and I would highly recommend finishing the meal with a brauilio sorbet, truly unique and delicious. The place lacks a bit of personality, while regarding the food, from the little I was able to taste, i.e. the grilled fillet and the vegetables, I can say that the meat was excellent! I will return as soon as possible to taste more and better understand whether to add the 4 star.

Excellent place to eat typical Italian dishes, they also have an excellent house wine. Highly recommended.

Trattoria discovered by chance... perhaps reservations are recommended because we managed to find a table for two people but it was actually completely full. We opted for 2 menus which include different courses, in order to have a taste of the typical dishes. The dishes are plentiful, the service is fast, the staff is friendly and has an excellent quality/price ratio. I will definitely come back.
