Osteria da Doddo, Italia In Urbania

Easter Sunday We ended up in Urbania a bit by chance without having booked for lunch around 2pm The town was deserted except for the restaurants After touring several places that refused to give us even a plate of cold cuts, we came across the Da Doddo restaurant which welcomed us warmly and even though the kitchen was very busy it managed to serve us very well. Congratulations to all the staff!

One of the best restaurants to eat truffles

We went for lunch for work on a Monday, and there were a lot of people. Apparently it is a very well known place in the area and very popular. Very kind and knowledgeable staff, excellent quality food, with typical local ingredients and dishes. A very nice and typical location where you almost feel at home. I congratulate all the staff for the commitment they put in. If you are in those parts I recommend you stop by and taste their delicacies

Small place with a family atmosphere, the menu is presented on a blackboard. All local cuisine dishes. We took the mixed crostini and the Doddo crostone with egg, cheese and truffle, all very tasty. Followed by tortelli with sausage, mushrooms and truffle and, off the menu, battered courgette flowers. All very good! Highly recommended!

It is the second time we have come to this place: the first having stumbled upon it by chance for dinner about a year ago and the second strongly desired given that it is more than an hour's drive from home. Nothing to say about the cuisine but unfortunately the service was so disappointing that we won't go there again. From the beginning, waiters who bumped into us as they passed (apologizing but still annoying) in a cold environment (so much so that they kept their jackets on for half the lunch, they also suggested how to resolve this problem when paying the bill but on the other hand they had total disinterest ) and exactly what we couldn't stand was a waitress who came to move our table to make room for another one that they had to add to deal with their booking error... among other things we were at the café so it would have been enough wait 5 minutes and we would have left but really careless about customer service... a real shame

Truffle-based dishes acceptable. Good local wines. The bill is a little high based on the quality of the truffle.

Abbiamo scelto il menù al tartufo bianco (crostini, tagliatelle e frittatina). Tutti i piatti erano arricchiti da tanto tartufo bianco, a nostro gusto ottimo. Non siamo degli esperti, ma per noi il pranzo è risultato indimenticabile.

Osteria da Doddo è un ottimo posto per pranzare con clienti e/o colleghi. Si viene serviti in poco tempo, il menù è vario e i piatti sono molto buoni e in porzioni più che generose. Certo non è la tipica pausa pranzo con menù lavoratori, però con 20/25€ a testa si mangia come Dio comanda.
