I, one of the first customers (year 2006 I believe), thanks to the indications of "Uncle Dino" (a person known in the area) met by chance while I was looking for a restaurant. San Domenico... what can I say? For me it is THE RESTAURANT in Monopoli. Environment, service, cuisine and quality all excellent. I can't describe anything else, you have to go to find out, you will be satisfied!

Alla scoperta di Ortona abbiamo scelto questo ristorante cercando su Tripadvisor. Disponibilità e cortesia fin dalla prenotazione telefonica. Vista la giornata di sole abbiamo scelto di pranzare nella veranda che si trova sotto al Castello Aragonese e vede il mare. Abbiamo preso delle seppie con i carciofi come antipasto: delicate ma saporite. Poi degli spaghetti alle vongole molto buoni e un arrosto misto di pesce in cui una rana pescatrice era davvero da applausi. Forse i dolci da migliorare un po’… Personale disponibile e costo adeguato a locale e prodotti. Consigliato.

Definitely the best place in our few days in Monopoli. Small local mainly Italians come. In addition, compared to other pubs, great food for a very reasonable price.

Sehr einfach gehaltener kleiner Laden von einen unaufgeregten entspannten netten Italiener der nett und freundlich bedient. Das Essen ist wirklich sehr gut und ehrlich. Wir haben jede gabel genossen und waren froh dieses Restaurant für den Tag in Monopoli ausgewählt zu haben. Einfache authentische Küche die einem ein gutes Gefühl gibt.

Passeggiando per Monopoli abbiano notato questo piccolo ristorante. Appena entrati il titolare ci accoglie con calore. Una volta preso l'ordine ci viene servito un piccolo preantipasto. Il menu presenta 5 / 6 proposte di antipasti, primi e secondi. Gran parte pesce ma anche qualcosa di terra. Abbiamo mangiato benissimo con un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Ci ritorneremo sicuramente!

05/03/2024: Prima volta a Bari. Arrivo ad ora di pranzo ed, in maniera del tutto casuale, mentre mi dirigo nell'affascinante Bari Vecchia, dove ho prenotato l'albergo, mi imbatto in questa beccheria a conduzione familiare. Qui regnano un'atmosfera informale, semplicità, accoglienza e soprattutto bontà. Ci sono tornato anche l'ultimo giorno prima di partire. Ho mangiato due panini, uno con carne e l'altro con zampina (una salciccia locale) piastrati al momento dinanzi a me e arricchiti da rucola e pomodori secchi. Il proprietario, sempre sorridente, ti fa sentire completamente a tuo agio ed è un piacere mescolarsi con la gente del posto con cui mentre mangi assapori anche spaccati di vita locale. Ottimi i prezzi.
28/01/2024: I'm giving three stars because we eat the usual sandwich which didn't drive me crazy, and finally they need to improve the hygiene of the meat counter, which is a little dirty, and I recommend that ladies wear a cap to contain their hair and gloves. latex for food contact

01/04/2024: The restaurant provided an amazing experience with a deserved Michelin selection, but the meal speed could be improved.
24/03/2024: Creative but not complex cuisine. The chef offers dishes that revisit custom without overdoing it. It surprises without shocking. We enjoyed the whole tasting journey chosen, and we would like to return. Bright and comfortable environment, attentive and impeccable service. Reasonable overall. Stellar, in my humble opinion: once the parking problem was resolved and the exit of the dishes from the kitchen was taken care of with the utmost care. Small flaw: no one asked for our coats, which remained on an armchair at the table for the entire lunch.
