02/06/2024: When it opened, years ago, you entered Rome, today I saw it as more "touristy"... personally too "touristy"... Very good food, little choice compared to before but the dishes are good. The staff, at least the girl who followed us, pushed excessively to make you choose an extra dish or the larger size, they agree that you have to sell but a lower limit would be more appreciated.
I have to point out 2 errors: first, at the beginning they bring you lupins and olives, which arrived in the same bowl for us.
Lupins are "relatives" of broad beans...if I had favism?? I couldn't even taste the olives.....
Second, ordered 2 different first courses, first one arrived and after a few minutes the other arrived... Table for two should be prepared together.... Oh well.....
01/06/2024: I was here for dinner months ago and for a birthday more recently.
I love the staff and the informality in dealing with the customer and vice versa in this restaurant. Without even doing it on purpose, after 5 minutes inside the place it is natural to show off the Roman accent and you are infected by the cheerfulness of the kids. I find this atmosphere wonderful, which I have found twice out of two times when eating here.
Having said this, on the other hand, I find that the prices are really high, ok that maybe you are also paying for that nice informal Roman atmosphere, but in a place that presents itself as "down to earth" with classic red and white striped tavern placemats and for eating simple things, €50/60 per person starts out easy and I consider it too much.
I don't remember exactly what type of tiramisu I had, but I would assume that it wasn't the classic one and on two occasions, with two different types of tiramisu (the first time we had a very large one with white chocolate to share, the second time a friend gave me his and it could perhaps have been tiramisu in their style) I have never been satisfied with these unfortunately... and what's more they cost €6 or more... definitely too much for a product that in my opinion needs to be reviewed .
Last flaw that annoyed me a lot the last time I was there for a birthday where I arrived after the birthday girl and her guests had finished eating, having drunk a beer, a bitter and a coffee and, if you want to count it, the famous tiramisu given to me by a friend, they counted me too, dividing the bill Roman style, creating a moment of embarrassment/angryness. It's probable that they even counted an extra menu (I repeat that I didn't have dinner there, I didn't eat the pre-established menu or anything else).
Moral of the story is that for beer, coffee and bitters, plus cover charge, I was asked €47.
It can certainly happen that you make a mistake, but it is still not acceptable to pay almost €50 for having consumed two stupid things.
