On the advice of our daughter, we spent our first evening in Florence dining at Fonticine. Beautiful establishment, friendly welcome and timely advice from a French-speaking waiter. We just regretted the somewhat long wait, despite the restaurant being far from full and paying attention to the prices, particularly for the specialty, the matured rib of beef, cooked over the embers.

Our experience started out amazing. The food was 5-star all the way. The steak florentine was perfectly prepared and melted in our mouths. The service was great, until the restaurant got busy. We were unable to get our server to bring us desserts or after dinner drinks, after 30 minutes of trying to get his attention we asked for the check (which we had to ask for 3 times), at that point it took another 20 minutes to get our check. I understand being busy, but to be a 5-star restaurant the service also has to be 5-star. They just kept seating more and more tables, despite it being clear that the staff could not keep up with the demand.

The food is very good. I had an excellent cut as soft as butter, my wife a sublime asparagus risotto and my son a cut of chicken. We were served by a waitress who was truly capable of her job and made us feel pampered not to mention the his kindness and always a smile on his face, we will definitely be back soon. It was a very positive experience overall. Dinner for 2 people: a first starter offered by the cashier: bean soup with a light garlic flavor that is not at all intrusive, very good. As an appetizer we chose Tuscan cold cuts (€24) accompanied by bread and breadsticks (the breadsticks are flavored and the level of crumbliness makes them much appreciated on the palate), in particular the raw ham was truly excellent (when eating you notice that it was expertly seasoned). We then ordered 2 different first courses as in the photo, but the Pappardelle with wild boar was the best even compared to other restaurants, none like here, really excellent, the meat had an excellent marinade, I liked them very much. All accompanied by two glasses of Chianti. For dinner we avoided the second course also to sleep more lightly, but the smell of grilled meat was tempting until the end. We moved on to dessert where we opted for simple and classic Cantucci with Vin Santo, dipped they are a delight, and a creme caramel. The staff was friendly and courteous.

I had my last dinner in Florence there. All was really perfect. Best Ossobuco I can remember. Service was attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend.

This place is a keeper, we loved everything! Make sure to taste their homemade tiramisu - it’s been years searching for an original tiramisu and theirs is for sure one that counts 10/10!

We had dinner at this restaurant which was recommended to us by the hotel we were staying at. Typical restaurant with truly excellent main course dishes, excellent meat and selection of sausages that we had as an appetizer. Grilled meat and homemade pasta specialties. The desserts made by them are also excellent. Peaceful, quiet and romantic restaurant perfect for a dinner for two. Friendly, friendly staff welcomed us with a smile. If we really have to find something negative, the wine is not available in bulk but only in bottles with very high prices. Very pleasant experience. Excellent value for money, 60/70 per head.
