The price-value ratio of the food cannot be said to be adequate, I think the quality of the food can be improved, but the restaurant is basically fine, the staff is fast and attentive.

We took a first course, local fish linguine, and a slice of meat, very good quality food made well, which overshadows the environment which could be a little renovated, and the unwelcoming staff.

The "Al Carugio" restaurant is located in a side street in the center of Monterosso. The staff is young and talkative. We had four first courses including trofie with pesto, trofie with scampi sauce, pansoti in walnut sauce. All dishes very good. High prices but within the Cinque Terre average.

Contrary to harsh criticism from some reviewers on this platform, we found the gnocchi al pesto and the spaghetti with scampi (fresher than elsewhere) to be tasty, although in our opinion the ingredients and the gnocchi with the pesto sauce were homemade and therefore not seasoned quite evenly - and therefore also pleasantly varied. Some of the service staff were a bit taciturn - they weren't Italian and, in our opinion, due to their mentality - but they tried very hard to do everything right.

We were visiting from the US. We loved everything about this restaurant. The food was best in town and the atmosphere and service was second to none. We hope to go back someday! It was off the “main path”, but not to be missed! We had dinner two nights in a row there.

Ristorante ben situato in una strada poco frequentata, adatto ai turisti stranieri che imperversano a Monterosso ormai da anni. Quindi qualità dei cibi non eccelsa, ma cortesia sostanziale. Prezzi purtroppo elevati, come avviene da tempo.
Vedere Monterosso, oggi non curatissimo ma sempre affascinante, al tepore del sole sempre accogliente. Non è come una volta ma ci si torna volentieri.
