Osteria Pappabona In Perugia

Did was spectacular. Took the waiter’s suggestion on a pasta and a vegetable. Thinly sliced carrots and zucchini in a lime mint dressing was fantastic. So fresh. Great lunch with people watching thrown in.

The place is really very nice, right in the center of Perugia. Courteous and friendly staff, very good and delicate food. Thank you!

Very enjoyable meal in this attractive restaurant. We both had the 'cacio pepe rustico', an enhanced version with guanchale and sweet red Cannara onion, It was delicious. For dessert, panna cotta all'amaretto.

The place is beautiful, intimate, romantic, the staff is young and the guy who served us was also nice! the only discordant note about the service is that while we were chatting pleasantly considering that the seats were very comfortable, a waiter arrived and threw the bill on the table, pointing out that they were closing... well it would have been nice if he had come earlier to inform us of the imminent closure that we would not go any further. Given that despite respecting the rules, I found it truly absurd that in the center of a beautiful city like Perugia, places like this could close so early, we really didn't like the way. Focusing on the food, the quality was really good but the cooking of some dishes such as the onion stuffed with pecorino sauce, sauce aside which was good, the container i.e. the onion in my opinion had to be edible in the sense that it was raw...The cod it was a little too hard but the dish as a whole was truly spectacular. However, I recommend it because there is so much more to try. And then the place is worth it!

The cheese board, duck and meatballs are highly recommended. One of the best restaurants I tried in Perugia.

We went to this restaurant the first night we arrived in Perugia. The servers were all very friendly and although there was no English menu, they were very happy to explain what the items on the menu were. I ordered a salad to start. It was very interesting. It was a mixed green salad laying on mashed potatoes with 3 large slabs of raw perch. I knew the salad had fish on it, but assumed it had been cooked. I’m sure this was a language barrier issue. I ate the lettuce and left the rest. I also had a pasta with a rags of deer meat with shaved black truffle on top. It was quite good. My dinner partner had a pasta with olive oil and shave black truffles which she said was very tasty. Prices were reasonable and the service was fine. Be sure to get someone’s attention to get the bill because they’ll wait to be asked.
