Local located in the center of Melegnano in an area near the castle. The restaurant has a beautiful historical sign. The environment is well looked after, tastefully mixing the old with good design. The food respects the Milanese Lombard tradition with particular attention to meat, but also has fish. The gnocchi I ate were homemade, but perhaps they were a little too big. The wine list is good: well-chosen small producers. Whoever welcomes us has a good knowledge of the cellars and the wines and describes them competently. Customer attention is good without being invasive

The service here was fantastic, not only did they have such attentive waiters but they also had great tasting food. The wine selection is nice and the establishment is a warm setting. They also spoke English as well for any travelers.

Local with a unique location, in the center of Melegnano. A stone's throw from the castle, the possibility of enjoying a tavern that doesn't forget that you can also be refined without exaggerating the price, or drink a quality cocktail. The aperitif dinner is excellent and in good weather there is the possibility of enjoying the Garden outdoors, in the shelter of centenary trees. Super recommended

Erano tanti anni, davvero tanti, che non ci tornavo e nonostante alcuni cambi di gestione “Il Portone” è ancora una garanzia. Il servizio è ottimo, ragazzi e ragazze molto giovani che colmano alcune lievi lacune conoscitive con una disponibilità e una gentilezza sincera di alto livello, dimostrando una importante volontà di crescita. La materia prima è di alto livello ed è lavorata sapientemente, tra i piatti suggerisco le alici fritte, pinoli, uvetta su crema di polenta di Storo, cipolle rosse e pomodorini marinati e il risotto al melograno, fonduta di Pannerone, granella di pistacchio. La sbrisolona, che ha la particolarità di essere preparata utilizzando farina di mais, è molto gustosa ma è un po’ poco torta sbrisolona. La cantina è molto interessante e intrigante con un’attenzione anche ai vini di produzione biologica. Rapporto qualità prezzo corretto. Sicuramente ci tornerò e consiglio di provarlo
