Divine. A journey into the culture of food

When recently visiting a restaurant in Palermo recommended by Google Maps, I expected a high level of service and quality dishes. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and offered to choose a table with white tablecloths, which added a touch of elegance to the interior. The restaurant is located on a quiet street where cars rarely pass, creating a cozy atmosphere for outdoor dining. However, despite a favorable first impression, the service left much to be desired. It was, to put it politely, very slow. Despite the lack of other diners near our table, we had to wait an inordinate amount of time to place an order, receive our dishes, and even to catch the waiter's attention. If you plan to eat quickly, unfortunately, this restaurant is not suitable for that. Although the food was tasty, the expectations regarding the desserts were not met. The tiramisu and other desserts did not live up to the expected high marks. The tartare was also disappointing. In the end, the hefty bill only underlined the disappointment at the discrepancy between price and quality of service and food. In conclusion, despite its cozy location and pleasant interior, the restaurant failed to meet expectations in terms of quality of service and gastronomy.

We loved the location and the interior was fabulous. Food was very good especially the primi, which were exceptional. We didn't enjoy the service, too pushy and uptight: we ended up getting something we didn't particularly want and felt like we didn't have time to think about it and make our own decisions, also not very trabsparent on price. Overall it was a good experience but perhaps a bit too expensive.

Ristorante situato nella parte storica di Palermo in un palazzo del 700 Due sale da pranzo, una storica e l’altra più rustica Maitre altezzoso Esagerata carta dei vini tanto che il personale non ricorda dove sono Ottime le materie prime, ben presentati i piatti Conto adeguato

Very nice ambience - historic building, tastefully decorated. Food was slightly disappointing. The best dish was the octopus starter. The famed Sicilian swordfish skewers, we thought would be just that - swordfish rolled up on skewers (I think this is the presentation if you Google the dish). However, it was pieces of fish in a flatbread sandwich - not what we had anticipated and we did not expect to eat a sandwich for dinner. Not overly impressed either, with the cod main dish. No complaints about service, though the first waiter to come, spoke only Italian (we tried a bit of French). As with other restaurants we visited in Palermo, we found the portion sizes fairly meagre in relation to the prices - people with a healthy appetite would need to order first and second courses (no gratis bread basket).
