Maqueda Bistrot In Palermo

Best place on via Maqueda. The guys are very nice, welcoming and super kind. The food is a guarantee from breakfast to dinner and a rich assortment of wines makes this place unique. If you pass through here, stopping is an obligation.

Very busy and beautiful place. The staff had everything in view. The prices were OK. Water, coffee and 1 croissant not included times 6€.

A small place with a great eye for design and a lot to offer in terms of Sicilian treats and drinks 👌 I loved the Caponata, but the truffle bruschetta didn't really satisfy my taste buds. The Aperol Spritz was also to my satisfaction. I felt some items were overpriced, and I didn't get the best vibes from the waiter – hence not a full score, but very close!

The rare place where you can have a proper breakfast (not just buns or sweets). The waitress was also really nice and offered to add zucchini to my dish because I wanted more veggies:)

We take a long walk from the Palazzo Mirto (separate review) to our hotel, the Grand Hotel Wagner (separate review) and end up on Via Roma around lunch time. We are looking for a place to eat spaghetti con sarde & finocchio (pasta with sardines and fennel). This place attracts us with the fact that they have A/C inside and feature 2 walls of Sicilian wines only. We order the pasta con sardines and a Grillo, a dry white from Sicily, and have a people watching moment while enjoying the cool air inside and the views outside. Our pasta arrives and it’s an explosion of taste in the mouth, goes perfectly well with the white vine. Meanwhile, we take a look at the salami & prosciutto displayed above our heads and ask the girl to make us a plate of mixed local cold cuts and cheese. It arrives with prosciutto cotto & prosciutto crudo, some dry Sicilian Salami, three types of local cheese, all tastefully presented on a bed of greens and accompanied by some delicious fresh bread. We top this scrumptious meal with two espressos and are happy campers. Cheers!
