Guys, look no further: this place is what you’ve been looking for! The outdoor location is perfect, simple but elegant (and Vitorchiano is just the perfect stroll for your full bellies..). The staff is attentive, funny and (important for my ignorant self) speaks English, without being pushy. And the food… Madonna, it’s not fancy and it does not need to be because it’s all what you need: They offer different concepts of traditional pizzas, for sure some of the best I ever had. The pancanella with local braised fish, though not for the faint hearted I suppose, was special. And the pollo i peppe simply BLEW my mind (while the waiter insisted I would eat it with my hands): like a good wine in the right setting it let me travel back to my childhood - yes, just like in the movies.. My limited expertise of wines wasn’t a problem since the regional selection is great, so was the dessert. It’s what you call slow food, good food that can make a night, a very worthy experience. Viva Mactra!

Pleasant restaurant, waiter, says that today he was in mourning for the death of his aunt, but his behavior was not justifiable, severe and unavailable, in the kitchen he makes a point of handling the food with gloves, long waits, not a good welcome. Improve yourself and a lot.

Recommended by friends, I went with my wife to the Mactra pizzeria; upon entering I had the feeling of a familiar environment, with a wonderful view of the very well-kept garden below (where you can eat in the summer) and the ancient walls with towers in the background. The menu is full of pizza specialties (but also other) whose variations are not only for the toppings but for the doughs made with particular wheat flours. I ordered an "al padellino" pizza with exquisite tomato sauce and buffalo mozzarella: it is a special pizza that reminded me a little of the typical one from Vico Equense. 4/5 cm high with a crunchy crust and soft interior, it is already delicious on its own and with the seasoning it is truly delicious; I accompanied it with a good merlot from Castiglione in Teverina. Excellent service!

Yesterday was my birthday. We were lucky enough to enter Mactra. I fully agree with other excellent reviews regarding the food served and the environment, and I would like to underline that, in addition to what has already been appreciated, it is worth noting the considerable attention to the customer as a guest, rather than as a subject who in the end he will pay what he owes. Mr. Luigi, who welcomed us and looked after us with professionalism and extreme, courteous joviality, also deserves all our compliments.

The welcome and service are truly impeccable, professionalism and friendliness undisputed. The place is well kept, clean and tidy. Furthermore, despite it being almost full, the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. The menu offers a selection of good food, expertly prepared dishes with quality ingredients. The pizzas are equally good, with the possibility of choosing between three different doughs, each with corresponding flavors combined to make the most of them.
