19/05/2024: In the past I had already written a review of this place but it came natural to me to write a more updated one, following the dinner on Saturday 18/5/24, to counter the many negative reviews I read on Tripadvisor. It is right that everyone writes what they feel like writing but it is also important to be balanced and honest. Let me start by saying that I have known and frequented Buonumore for several years and have always appreciated the culinary philosophy of this place. It's true that Amelio is not an easy character, but his concept of cooking is really interesting. Only local fish (when there is a rough sea or a catch, the place is closed, which is very rare for other restaurants), it is forbidden to ask for salt or oil to flavor the dishes because according to Amelio you have to look for the flavor in the dish. Simona, Amelio's daughter, has been in the kitchen for some time and has taken over the reins of the kitchen with conviction and with excellent results. This time my friends and I also found an improvement in the execution of the dishes. Always the tasting formula which with 5 courses offers Amelio and Simona's cooking concept at a truly honest price (€45). The Viareggio cacciucco is very good and tasty, the raw fish with local fish, also very beautiful to look at, the fried fish with sweet and sour onions and skate cartilage, the skate meatballs and the linguine with pottino (lamprey) which closes the tasting. The only note that I have already made in previous reviews and which I have clearly expressed in person is the presentation of the pasta dish as the last course. The wine list is interesting with good proposals of labels that are not very well known and famous but of great quality. I would like to point out the Scopeto by Bibi Graetz, a blend of Vermentino and Ansolica from the island of Giglio, and the Vermentino di Candia by Vigne Conti.
