At first I fell in love with the food, but then I fell in love with the man; Giovanni clearly loves his craft and we were lucky enough to stumble upon his restaurant. Continuate cosi!!! Don't second guess it, do the Florentine steak.

Highlight of my trip to Florence! Food was the best Italian food I have ever had. Hospitality was spectacular and I highly recommend if you want real authentic Italian food. You won’t regret it! Ps. Giovanni was awesome :)

Best place ever!!! Traveled all over Italy and ate at many high quality restaurants and nothing compares to ll Barroccio. The Gnocchi was amazing. The Carbonara is to die for. The service is unbelievable. Giovanni is a true authentic Italian master. This place is a must. Make sure you give this place a try. You will not be dissatisfied.

Without exaggerating, this was the best Italian food i’ve had in my life… so good that I went back a second time… great service and great hospitality… Giovanni was amazing! Food is fresh and authentic! Worth the money! It’s a must!!

Best meal I’ve had so far in Italy! Giovanni was absolutely amazing with the service! The gnocchi was great! The carbonara was sooo good! The risotto was wow! Highly highly recommend! AMAZING HOSPITALITY which made the experience even better. True Italian experience!!

It was one of our best finds in Florence! Simple, authentic and purely delicious dishes from start to finish. Don’t even think if you should give it a try or not. If you are looking for a local cuisine that’s the place for you!👌

OSTERIA SANTA CROCE

23/05/2024: I went to the Battipaglia tavern on Saturday. The intention was to have an aperitif and the waiter welcomed us at the table overlooking the square. We drank some delicious aperitifs and ate various bruschettas and chips. The value for money is absolutely extraordinary. Highly recommended! It will be the first place I return to, in Florence.
13/05/2024: Excellent service, high quality food expertly cooked by the cook Giovanna who was able to enhance the taste of each dish with her experience and knowledge... the plating was also beautiful
