In the name of Caliendo there are memories of many childhood and adolescence dinners with family and friends, when it was in front of the villa in Bacoli and it was both a restaurant and a pizzeria. For the first time, I tried the new Caliendo, the one that has taken on a more refined and refined look from rustic and traditional cuisine, and I must say that I am enthusiastic about this change. In all the dishes I ate, I found a high-level study in the combination of flavors I had never tried before, which gave my palate a pleasant and unforgettable experience. The appetizer with 8 tastings (which includes their traditional cup of minced mussels and crostini) is absolutely worth trying, because each one is a combination of fish and garnishes studied ad hoc, particular and surprising. The fried calamari is excellent and the octopus on mashed potatoes with Spritz jelly is poetry, a riot of colours, smells and flavours. The menu presents interesting proposals but, unfortunately, it is done a little badly (digital), approximate in the description of some dishes and the allergens are not indicated next to each of these, but the dining room staff was very attentive to my dietary needs . The location is intimate and welcoming, with sober and simple furnishings, and a sea view over the entire Gulf of Naples which looks like a huge painting that matches perfectly with the colors of the room. The service was fast and impeccable and the quality-price ratio was good, even if the €3 cover charge is something I don't like. I'll venture a suggestion: enlarging the parking lot could be a good idea.

Nice place a little hidden. We only found it because of the positive reviews but they were all deserved. Good food in the right quantities and of excellent quality.

Posto incantevole, menù eccellente

Ubicato in Via Mozart a Bacoli, il locale offre una suggestiva vista sul mare, apprezzabile sia di giorno sia di sera. Il ristorante non è molto grande ed è diviso in due terrazze. Si arriva nel parcheggio, un pò piccolo, poi si salgono delle scale che portano alle due terrazze, in un ambiente casalingo piuttosto che da ristorante. Abbiamo ordinato come antipasto una frittura di alici e un misto mediterraneo composto da miniportate, 4 calde e 4 fredde. Le alici erano nella norma, l'antipasto misto era curato, raffinato e squisito. Primi piatti molto buoni, soprattutto le mezze maniche con fagioli, cozze e bottarga di tonno. La frittura di calamari era si asciutta e dorata come deve essere ma l'impanatura difettava di croccantezza. Infine i dolci, tutti preparati artigianalmente da loro, buoni ma non ci hanno colpito in modo particolare. Il conto è abbastanza salato ma è da considerare la location e la cucina raffinata proposta. In definitiva abbiamo mangiato bene, il locale è accogliente, la vista è magnifica, qualche piatto è stato un pò sotto le alte aspettative che avevamo.
