Like every year on holiday in Ischia you cannot miss dinner at the Cenerentola restaurant, in Forio d'Ischia opened in 1960, with a large internal room and a spacious panoramic terrace with a view of the Pomeo and the sea in the distance. Stanislao, the owner of the house, with great kindness and professionalism, offers the dishes of the day, with a choice of starters, first courses based on fish and land, and second courses. The fresh fish and the Ischia-style rabbit are always excellent and must be booked in advance with the bucatino..., a unique delicacy... The desserts and bitters are also very good... This was the simplest, cheapest, and most welcoming restaurant I tried during this trip. Tons of choice on the menu - which is in the old-fashioned Italian style where you order lots of small dishes to build up courses. Plenty of space inside, but the locals were all ordering takeaway. All the food was delicious, if not as amazing as some other places on the island. A small note for those attending off-season: they don't seem to update the hours on their website. I never saw them open before 7.30pm.

We had an unexpectedly amazing experience at this restaurant. The good and wine was delicious and when we wanted to leave at midnight the server offered us a free ride back to our hotel, which was totally unexpected! Amazing family restaurant.
