Thank you.....!!!! Thank you for the "moving...." experience in the flavors of each dish.. served with mastery in the raw materials and for artful plating which, like small paintings, begins at first sight to lead you on a journey of unique flavours! Thanks to the service and the staff, available and present despite the large clientele. From this trip to Venice, I will bring in ❤️ not only the places but this magical place! I highly enjoyed the sea bass turban and the toffee ice cream with apple for dessert! Go there and enjoy the flavors.

A great discovery... Refined Venetian cuisine, a quiet location, attentive staff... Relatively high price but normal for this gourmet restaurant far from the tourist crush.

Good food, I expected better given the price.
Quantity a little tight but still very good.
Small false note, we were not offered coffee.
A bit cold atmosphere.
I expected better.
Very expensive wine by the glass. 9 euros while the bottle was 35.

My first review of Casa Cappellari (written back in May of this year) was fulsome in its praise. So a second visit during our December trip was an absolute must. We returned on a chilly lunchtime and boy – had things changed! No longer feeling a little empty and unloved – the place was packed. We were apologetically informed that the only tables left were upstairs, which had me thinking we’d be sitting on our own. Again – this couldn’t have been further from the truth. By the time we left, there wasn’t a spare seat in the house. Obviously word has spread that this is a special place – and it is.
We had looked at the lunch menu online but the menu supplied didn’t have any of the dishes we were so looking forward to trying. I later discovered that we had been given the dinner menu, deliberately or by accident – who knows? Nevertheless, there was plenty on the dinner menu we liked the sound of.
My wife started with a cream of mushroom and porcini, small octopus and cuttlefish roe – absolutely delicious. I started with a red tuna “cheesecake” which sounds odd but was so very good. My wife moved on to ricotta stuffed ravioli, with amberjack tartare which was first rate and I had a slice of turbot that was simply epic. The chef had managed to get the skin to a crunchy crispness, without overcooking the delicate white flesh – an absolute triumph. For dessert we had some festive panettone with vanilla sauce – again, absolutely delicious.
This restaurant more than deserves its place in Italy’s number one food guide and if the numbers in mid-December are any indication, I’d recommend booking if you want to visit outside of the low-season. Highly recommended.
