Excellent buffet of typical Trieste and Carsolina cuisine, very popular, open kitchen, efficient and fast staff. Recommended. They do not accept reservations for eating. Closes at 5pm.

Small and crowded place, frequented by locals during the lunch break. You can grab a sandwich and eat it standing or sit down and order from the menu. They don't accept reservations but it's not difficult to find a seat because the speed of the service means there isn't too much queue building up. Good typical food, not abundant. Adequate value for money.

If you're in Trieste, you definitely have to take a look at Gildo. Very busy at lunchtime, with a 10-15 minute wait - well worth it. The best Italian food, “Mama’s” style at top prices, friendliness towards guests from all over the world make it a really great visit. Simply TOP!

Ottimo ristorantino per pranzo...pietanze molto molto buone e prezzi onesti...unico neo (da come vedo) è sempre strapieno di gente, ma comunque ti fanno sempre( in qualche modo) accomodare, poi ti servono velocemente...eventualmente, per non farti aspettare tanto, ti offrono pure un piccolo antipasto... Bravi...tornerò senza ombra di dubbio la prossima volta.

Cibo ottimo pieno di sapori locali come la Jota e il piatto di Gildo per riscaldare lo stomaco dal gelo della città e del suo vento freddo. Servizio eccellente: veloci, cordiali ed educati (a differenza di ciò che ho sentito). La locanda calda e accogliente trasmette familiarità ma anche un ambiente caotico essendo anche luogo di ritrovo per lavoratori. per concludere, un luogo perfetto per prendere una pausa e mangiare piatti tipici e deliziosi.

08/03/2024: era un po' che non venivamo in questo locale e quindi abbiamo deciso di tornarci. I camerieri sono sempre molto gentili, il menù è sempre molto ricco e vario fra panini e piatti e le birre ottime. Ci sono anche parecchi televisori per seguire le eventuali partite e questo è un motivo davvero importante per tornarci!
