Antica Osteria Il Rifugio In San gimignano

Acudimos a este local un día para cenar en el que hacía bastante frío, por lo que comimos en la terraza interior. El local es amplio por lo que está bien para grupos grandes. La atención es buena, la comida también y las raciones son bastante amplias. El precio es razonable.

Good food, but be careful when ordering off the menu. Giuseppe suggested a fish for two, which we imagined would have a lower value than 2 identical individual dishes (50.00 Euros), which to our surprise we were charged more (60.00 Euros). I thought it was an unethical stance.

Very friendly staff and excellent food. A great place to stop for dinner if in San Gimignano or the surrounding area. Really excellent.

Llegamos pasadas las dos del mediodía al alojamiento que está justo al lado por lo que no había mucho más donde elegir, tenía buenas críticas así que lo probamos. Cuando entramos estaba completamente lleno y nos dijeron que la cocina estaba a tope, que si nos esperábamos unos 20-30 minutos que podían darnos de comer. Esperamos, no teníamos muchas alternativas y he de decir que la espera mereció la pena. Fue una sorpresa cuando nos dijeron que a mediodía no hacían pizzas, es lo que habíamos escogido, por lo que tuvimos que cambiar de planes y escogimos pasta y risotto. La pasta estaba buena pero el risotto estaba espectacular, el vino bueno también y el servicio del jefe de sala fue muy bueno. Es un tipo peculiar pero sabe perfectamente lo que hace. Los postres se me murió el móvil y no pude hacer fotos pero estaban bien. Calidad-precio normal y nos invitaron a un limoncello muy bueno antes de los cafés. Por la noche cuando volvimos al alojamiento pedimos pizzas para llevar y estaban bastante buenas, para mi gusto la masa un poco grande pero esto ya va a gusto de cada uno, me gustan un poco más finas pero no puedo decir que estuviesen malas porque estaban buenas. El local estaba lleno de gente de la zona, lo que iban sirviendo al resto de mesas se veía todo muy bueno la verdad, con unas cantidades muy generosas, nosotros fuimos en domingo y tuvimos la sensación que es un lugar donde van a comer las familias de la zona los domingos. Tienen una zona muy amplia para que puedan jugar los niños y al estar apartados del pueblo más cercano no está el riesgo del tráfico que puede haber en otros lugares.

We arrived after two in the afternoon at the accommodation that is right next door so there wasn't much else to choose from, it had good reviews so we tried it. When we entered it was completely full and they told us that the kitchen was full, that if we waited 20-30 minutes they could feed us. We waited, we didn't have many alternatives and I have to say that the wait was worth it. It was a surprise when they told us that they didn't make pizzas at lunch, that's what we had chosen, so we had to change our plans and chose pasta and risotto. The pasta was good but the risotto was spectacular, the wine was also good and the service from the waiter was very good. He's a peculiar guy but he knows exactly what he's doing. The desserts, my phone died and I couldn't take photos but they were good. Normal price-quality and they invited us to a very good limoncello before coffee. In the evening when we returned to the accommodation we ordered pizzas to take away and they were quite good, for my taste the dough was a little big but this is to everyone's taste, I like them a little thinner but I can't say that they were bad because they were good . The place was full of people from the area, what they were serving to the rest of the tables looked very good, really, with very generous quantities, we went on Sunday and we had the feeling that it is a place where families go to eat from the area on Sundays. They have a very large area for children to play and being away from the nearest town there is no risk of traffic that may exist in other places.

Absolutely worth trying, delicious meat, very kind and knowledgeable staff, fantastic owner!! We will definitely be back.

I have celiac disease and I must say that I ate very well

Excellent family dinner with our three little girls: excellent pizza, bread always replenished at the table, excellent first courses and meat. Good wine selection. Courteous and attentive service. I recommend it to you
