Le Vecchie Cantine

23/05/2024: We started our tour of Tuscany with a night in this lovely hotel in a typical Tuscan village of Chianni. Value for money the stay was superb. We were given a room on the first floor (second american) with a delightful view of a small village square and the distant countryside. The room was large, comfortable and well appointed and we enjoyed a good sleep.
The restaurant had a rustic charm and all the food that we had at dinner was absolutely delicious. The same can be said for breakfast. We again returned to the restaurant a week later.
All of the staff encountered were helpful and charming. Other reviews mention their lack of language skills. Communication was fun and very easy.
Parking.....they don't make it clear that they have their own parking lot not far from the hotel but the town municipal car park is free anyway albeit a fairly steep climb up to the hotel
I would highly recommend both the hotel and the restaurant.
19/05/2024: What can I say...in the village of Chianni, nice location. Menu based on meat and game. Medium-high prices. But I've eaten better elsewhere. Honestly, I expected more, given the environment and the location...

07/05/2024: Exceptionally good food made even better by the hospitable and kind manner of the staff. The terrace where food is served in the warm months is so beautiful! Enjoy your aperitivo there and then taste Anna's kitchen! Paradise.
05/05/2024: Two years ago we went on holiday to Chianni with the family (1 child of 3). Came back again this year and end up at Anna's bar regularly again. Such a friendly and warm woman, delicious sandwiches and croissants, you really feel welcome. The coffee is also very good. Thanks and until next time. 🙂

07/02/2024: Ho visto questa tratttoria per andare a Follonica, e con mia madre abbiamo deciso di fermarci per prendere da mangiare. (Avevamo al guinzaglio un cucciolo di Jack Russel) nemmeno il tempo di entrare a vedere cosa offriva questa trattoria che il proprietario in modo molto arrogante e maleducato mi ha detto che il cane non poteva entrare e che dovevo uscire immediatamente. Non lo consiglio minimamente

tagliatelle strepitose, si vede che sono fatte a mano
secondi abbiamo preso cinghiale e confilio, consiglio molto il cinghiale che si scioglieva in bocca
dolce della casa per finire e i dolci cambiano ogni volta
Consiglio caldamente, soprattutto se voleve stare un po' in tranquillità in mezzo alla campagna toscana

03/12/2023: Abbiamo pranzato a La Ripadoro per la seconda volta e non sarà sicuramente l'ultima.
Pranzo stellare ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Perfino migliore della prima volta.
Il posto molto bello, il personale competente e disponibile, il cibo eccellente.
Abbiamo assaporato delle preparazioni dal gusto indimenticabile.
Lo chef sa trasformare materie prime di ottima qualità in dei veri e propri capolavori.
Perfetto nelle porzioni, nel condimento e nella presentazione dei piatti.
Lodevoli anche i dolci. Non per niente e' l'unico ristorante dove prendo il dolce.....

06/08/2023: Nelle campagne Toscane, in un paesino arroccato in collina con neanche cento anime, dopo qualche km di curve a gomito, esiste un ristorante con sale padronali anticamente arredate e terrazza con vista panoramica dove mangiare piatti da chef stellato, sia alla vista che al gusto, ma a prezzi normalissimi? Tutto ottimo dall'entreè al dolce. Tutti i piatti sono curati nei minimi dettagli, sia nella preparazione che nel gusto, sia nella presentazione a partire dalla scelta del piatto alla disposizione del cibo. Sapori amalgamati che non stonano mai. Personale gentile, sorridente e stra disponibile. DA PROVARE!!
