04/05/2024: Unique in every sense. He is the only one, the "host" of this wonderful modern tavern in the heart of old Salerno, friendly, empathetic, the soul of a young and attentive team. The blackboard that replaces the menu offers us a quantity of appetizers, one better than the other and therefore indispensable, which remind us of the "Salerno" style of Spanish tapis. The sequel to the first and second courses was excellent. Atmosphere, attention to detail, friendliness, warmth... The ONLY mistake you could make if you pass through Salerno is not coming to eat AT THE ONE.

27/05/2024: Osteria just outside the centre. Public parking along the street. Traditional cuisine (mainly from Cilento). Everything fresh, genuine. Earthen plates. Generous portions. Village wine (made with grapes as the very nice owner Angelo says). Homemade desserts (really good). Simple and welcoming environment. We had a good time and ate very well, spending less than the average restaurant in Salerno.

05/04/2024: Terrible experience. 3 euro cover charge per person, as if we were in the center of Milan. Followed by a "bruschetta" (actually a crust of dry bread) and some anchovies for 12 EURO. Then strange pizzas with a dubious taste. For example: I had a pizza with various cheeses, it was full of a sweet substance, perhaps mustard or pear jam, I felt like one of those foreign tourists who ask for "pizza and pineapple" and which we Italians deride ;-) the price ? 14 Euros. And then we want to talk about the beers? An "artisanal" one, the unfiltered Ichnusa is 10 times better...6 euros for a 33 glass. Horrendous and kitsch environment with yellow walls and dark details, slow and inefficient staff, it took them 30 minutes to clear the table where we were supposed to sit , and there were at least five of them in the room with less than forty people in the room. Moral of the story? Almost 40 EURO per person for ONE pizza each and a few beers. This is not in London or Porto Cervo but in Salerno in southern Italy where "eating with taste and tradition and spending the right amount" is just a distant memory. For me the positive reviews are either fake or from friends of the managers. Listen, stay away.

29/05/2024: We ate at Cicirinella our first and then again our last night in Salerno. It is in the historic part of the city near Cathedral of Santa Maria degli Angeli, San Matteo and San Gregorio VII Duomo di Salerno. They have many gluten free options and the staff is excellent! The chefs are tops, the presentation is lovely and the food is delicious! We tried some of almost everything! On our last night they surprised us with a delicious coffee foam cup and limoncello! So nice!!
