Ristorante Pirandello 2.0 In Taormina

23/04/2024: We have just left this restaurant, the owner Santino welcomed us with extraordinary kindness, we ate very well, their baked fish with escarole as a side dish absolutely top notch. The icing on the cake were the Sicilian cannoli. Over the top. Prices more than accessible. Absolutely recommended without any reservations. Thanks to Santino for everything.

06/04/2024: We were taking a small drive around the island of Salina when we were recommended to visit A Cannata for lunch. With not much open on the island at this time of year, we weren’t surprised that it was empty — but we were pleasantly surprised when the owner, Santino, kindly welcomed us in anyway and offered the full menu for lunch. We had a brilliant four course meal, consisting of delicious antipasti, freshly cooked pasta, fresh seafood, salad and of course cannoli for dessert. Everything was beautifully prepared and given with true Sicilian hospitality. We mentioned we were researching family history on the island, and Santino went as far to bring history books from his own home and call a local historian to make a connection for us as well. The restaurant itself was incredible with perfect views of the ocean, the food was divine (best we had on the islands!), but it’s Santino that really gives this place its warm and welcoming character. Even as someone who lives in Italy, this was a very memorable experience and we can’t wait to go back — but next time we’ll call ahead!
