Very cozy restaurant, with a charming atmosphere created by warm decoration, pleasant music, ample space between tables and impeccable cleanliness. The service was really nice. And, the bottom line: the food was delicious, with very fresh ingredients, very good cuisine and a great value for money. We will definitely repeat if we return to Ostia Antica.

I went for lunch with the family. Excellent and friendly welcome. The raw material is very fresh and served to perfection, enhancing the flavor of the food which when eating fish is always a symptom of quality. The really excellent raw dishes but also the excellent first courses. The spaghettoni with corn on the cob, clams and glasswort are special. 10/10. We also caught a nice salted snapper and tasted various desserts. Everything excellent. The service was also attentive and kind and the owner gave us several tips, all of which were welcome and really successful For me it is a reference if you want to eat good fish. Well done!

Beautiful place, excellent cuisine. Ancient host in the heart

After the visit to the Archaeological Park we found a place in this restaurant without looking at reviews and without a reservation. Impeccable welcome from the always friendly staff during lunch and 5 minutes to prepare the table in one of the internal rooms. Very rich menu between sea and land and, being in Ostia, we chose the first option. I had some doubts about the continuation of lunch when the waiter, who was also very kind, took the order from memory: sautéed mussels, fried baby octopus and crispy leek with balsamic vinegar, spaghetti with clams, monument maltagliati and 2 glasses of falanghina. Bread did not arrive and dishes did not arrive at the same time: first the baby octopus and, on request, the sauté. Then a plate of spaghetti but they weren't ours, then (always on request) the 2 glasses. After a while 2 "monuments" arrive but obviously only one was too many. After 10 minutes the spaghetti arrived and we practically took turns eating the first course. But let's get to the praise after the criticism: the frying was excellent and light, the mussels were good, too bad it was missing a bit of toasted bread (or even fresh bread) for a sumptuous "slipper". The spaghetti cooked very al dente was good but not very good and (perhaps due to the delay) was a little detached from the sauce) but the maltagliati alla monument were excellent and plentiful: simply very tasty. It's a shame about the misunderstandings: we know that on Sundays, despite the experience and the many waiters, there can be a problem but this damages both the customer and the restaurateur. Prices perhaps a little above average but still it's worth trying, not on Sunday: and maybe that's what I'll do

Appena fuori le mura del borgo di Ostia Antica c'è questo storico locale che dal 1884 delizia i suoi commensali! Meriterebbe più delle tre stelle assegnate, sopratutto per gli stupendi antipasti, nel particolare le fritture sono di ottima fattura! Dispiace per la poca organizzazione che...

Un bel posto, si mangia bene e con un ottimo servizio da parte di tutti. Forse un pochino lunghi i tempi di attesa, ma quando arriva il piatto in tavola dimentichi tutto. Consigliato.
