We went on Saturday night for dinner. We were very happy with the food and the service. Polite, fast. They put us at ease and as I already said we ate very well.

A wonderful place and great food for regional, classic and unpretentious cuisine. No chichi. The lighting with cold white light alone creates a working atmosphere. But typically Italy. It's just not my thing.a My first pepperoni creschi. So delicious. Friendly staff. I would go again. However, I wouldn't eat lamb, the meat was just too gristly and fatty for me. But here too: this is how it is eaten here. Pure, without anything. So it's more likely that I'm wrong and not the Osteria, so it's still a high score

Cibo buonissimo, personale gentilissimo e cordiale. Il miglior ristorante che abbiamo provato a matera in un una settimana… ed erano rutti molto buoni :)

It was recommended to us by locals. Excellent Lucanian cuisine, simple, tasty and very tasty. Very kind staff. Excellent wine. I would definitely recommend it.

Sono stato a Matera per un evento e ho mangiato da Nico per tutto il fine settimana e mi sono trovato davvero benissimo, cibo buonissimo, porzioni abbondanti, personale veramente fantastico, tutti gentilissimi e molto disponibili, sono stato trattato coi guanti di velluto. In ultimo la location è bellissima, con il dehor in pieno centro storico e vista sui sassi mentre la sala interna è scavata nella roccia. Ogni qual volta tornerò a Matera mangerò sicuramente da Nico

Io e il mio fidanzato date le ottime recensioni ci siamo recati in questo ristorante per cenare ed è stata un ottima scelta. Piatti unici e clamorosi abbiamo preso la degustazione della casa con 6 portate una più buona dell’altra accompagnati da una bottiglia di vino, abbiamo ordinato anche due primi buonissimi con prodotti freschissimi e di qualità, per concludere abbiamo ordinato due dolci fantastici fatti da loro. Per non parlare del prezzo più che onesto e del personale molto cortese e gentile.

10/05/2024: I like the food served, especially great pasta (loved with pepper flakes and ricotta). The staff rather nice, however there is a strange custom that outside seats are only available after reservation even when all free. The prices for main dishes are decent, but for some appetisers it was a rip-off, particularly this one that was not ordered. The ambience is local and quite good, but local music would be appreciated. Overall good choice if you want to eat in Sassi.
09/05/2024: Excellent quick meal with Lucanian specialties: crusco pepper, bread meatballs, grilled caciocavallo. Everything was excellent, even wine (Aglianico) and coffee

Ristorante Tre Cancelli

07/04/2024: Externally the place appears very simple, with tables and games for children outside. Inside, however, the environment is rustic, typical of these places, and a magnificent fireplace accompanied us throughout the meal. We are more than 900 meters above sea level. There were two of us, we had 2 first courses and 2 second courses, as a side dish patatin (frying in new oil) a pancake before the main meal. We ate with gusto, even if the cuisine is already intense and tasty, it has never evolved into an indigestible cuisine, but, I repeat, strong flavors still remain. In particular I was struck by the goodness of the bread and the flavor of the lamb. Very tasty! Regarding the prices, I found them in line with other restaurants, I consider them fair. Possibly in the photo you will find the menus. The efficient and kind service, always present. Very good coffee offered.....I would happily return.....
