In the (rather remote) times of the Liceo (Sannazzaro) it was on this side of the road, right down to the intersection with Piazza Fuga, that people stopped when leaving school or to start the group's evening - and if you didn't go out in you knew you would find her there even without WhatsApp. The "place" was right in front of the historic Vomero bookshop where the Riot is now located. And where outside, chairs and tables seem to be an echo of those times, because they recall school desks and chairs: an original and I believe conscious choice, a way to tell what that side of the street represents for more than one generation. In the name of a more adult aperitif, a beer tasting, or very well executed cocktails, they now invite a "revival" without nostalgia for that spontaneous sociality. The concept is also interesting inside: five stars for the certainly unusual atmosphere and above all for the very successful lighting, consistent with the mood of the environment and the style it wants to represent (the "Chesterfield" sofa on the mezzanine floor is beautiful). Five stars for the selection of beers on the menu, the wine selection could and should be a little more daring. Five stars for the quality of the aperitif preparations, a surprise that is renewed every time with essential staples such as "bruschetta" and a few nods to Slow Food. Efficient, attentive, polite and above all competent staff: professionalism cannot be improvised. Advised? Definitely: for those who come to discover the city and the neighborhood and for those who have always lived there, or at least since their school days.

More than a bar, Riot is a meeting place for young (...and not so young) people. It is frequented by nice people who want to have a drink in company in the late evening. There are few tables, even if they don't serve much purpose. The service is very present: they often go around the crowd relieving customers of empty glasses as if it were a private party.

Very youthful atmosphere, in the center of the Vomero (neighborhood of Naples) music in the background. The sandwiches are excellent, as is the hamburger on a tall, tender plate. Good assortment of beers on tap and friendly, professional staff. Advised.

Excellent value for money, but the bedlam it enjoys makes it almost "unliveable", plus parking is a challenge... I recommend it outside peak hours.

Locale che frequento spesso e posso definire casa. Si mangia bene, si beve bene, ben frequentato. Il weekend bisogna sempre prenotare altrimenti si resta on piedi. Ma ne vale la pena.
