I visited this restaurant for dinner, tasting a trio of their first courses which I found to be impeccable. Good choice also for vegetarian customers.

Awarded for good reason: perfect gnocchi in each of the three versions included in the trio. Desserts definitely well made, especially the tartin. Wine list not long but satisfying. The red brick vaults, the lights and the furnishings are a beautiful setting

Warm and welcoming place, created from the cellars of the old convent. From the first courses you can create encores and trios of first courses and taste the one that inspires you most. The portions are right. Average price and quality. We will definitely be back. PS. The young and trained staff accompanies you to the café with great professionalism. I advise

Yesterday with family it was an evening with excellent food. Fabulous dumplings and risottos. Good and friendly waiters. I will gladly return.

Tentate tantissime prenotazioni prima di riuscire a centrare l'ambito tavolo.. in effetti basta programmare la visita con un po' di anticipo e il gioco si fa semplice grazie anche al sito. Locale situato nel pieno centro di Varese è nel basamento di un palazzo con soffitto a botte e pavimento in cotto tenuti perfettamente. Ristorante gestito da personale veloce, gentile e disponibile. Gnocchi e risotto spettacolari di ottimo gusto e fatti con vari abbinamenti per accontentare tutti i palati o per poterci tornare più volte! Ottima selezione di vini. Ci tornerò sicuramente

Locale molto caratteristico con volte in mattoni, piatti e servizio davvero superlativo. La qualità dei prodotti molto alta, abbiamo mangiato antipasto di salumi e formaggi, tris di gnocchi davvero ottimi. Necessaria prenotazione e da provare. Consigliatissimo

Domenica sera io e mia moglie abbiamo gustato nel.locale 2 pizze, una marinara e una mito, giudicandole mediocri per impasto ed ingredienti. Servizio veloce personale gentile ma prezzi alti. Nulla a che vedere con la vecchia gestione. Non lo raccomandiamo.Non ci torneremo.

18/02/2024: If you want to eat meat really well you have to go to Balabiott. Now we are at home with Sara, always attentive to our needs, and her partner, a very good cook with a passion for matured meat. From choosing the best meats to the best cooking you can find. Overall, highly recommended! The pizza and desserts are also top, obviously.
04/02/2024: Definitely worth remembering for the quality of the meat. Really quality burger, Diaframma which is butter. But the chickpea burgers with beer Balabiot sauce are also good.

Vecchia trattoria della Pesa

14/04/2024: Location in the center of Varese with a very elegant atmosphere and attention to detail. There aren't many seats inside so I recommend making a reservation (perhaps during the summer they also have a few tables outside). Our experience was definitely positive overall, with a predominantly land/meat menu (for all courses they still offer a fish alternative), everything lived up to expectations. Generous portions. To make the experience truly 5-star, also considering the medium-high menu prices (at least €60 each including two and a half courses each, water, wine and coffee) the service could be improved (slightly undersized compared to to the number of guests in the room and therefore a little slow) and the presentation of the dishes (we expected it to be a little more "wow" and one of us found the sliced ​​beef not very tender). However, I recommend you try it!
