Charming hotel in an easy to reach location with a good breakfast. The WiFi was good and necessary as the walls were thick and cell service didn’t work. The grounds were beautiful. The pool was not open in March, but looked inviting. I didn’t try the restaurant as I met friends staying with a tour group. My only complaint was that the cleaning staff threw away my plastic cup and shower cap each day. There were others, but this seemed wasteful. I should have asked at the desk to not have my room cleaned every day.

Superb location surrounded by greenery. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by attentive and welcoming staff who knew how to make you feel immediately at ease. The impeccable cuisine, with traditional local dishes revisited with excellent combinations. Great selection of wines. We will be back.

We have been there twice, in summer and in winter. The structure is very beautiful, it is located just outside Umbertide. I used the restaurant both times, outdoors in the summer and indoors in the winter, eating very well both times.

Location, quiet, where peace reigns.... The interior of the restaurant is beautiful... I ate an excellent pizza, quick service.... I highly recommend it 👍

06/04/2024: “Menu a Sorpesa” is a great concept which transforms a meal into a real experience, and here it was for a very fair and decent price. We enjoyed all the dishes served. We loved the informal atmosphere as well as the unique, eclectic design. We felt right at home in this family run eating place and want to give special thanks to Filippo for his friendliness and hospitality. We highly recommend Osteria del Matto at Piazza del Mercato in Spoleto. If you can’t find it there, just ask locals as we did:)

06/04/2024: The quality of the food was quite disappointing. No dishes worthy of note... Everything average and nothing particularly "good"! Low quality/price ratio.
03/04/2024: We had dinner there two evenings and, on both occasions, we had a very, very, very good time. The place is welcoming and decidedly pleasing to the eye. All the staff proved helpful, kind and (above all) prepared. The dishes, cooked with taste and balance, were definitely appreciated by all of us, to the point that the youngest of the company said: "Exquisite!"
