The pizza was amazing. The lady who was handing the cashier was very sweet and sharp. She remembered our long order very easily. Also gave us free water bottles. Such a kind gesture.

Mediocre place compared to other haughty ones, the location is nice, the waiting time is almost zero, the prices for the quality and size are a little high and the pizza was not good, made a long time ago

Oh, Altero, you've lived in my dreams for decades since I popped in for a slice on my way to and from lectures at the university, and you didn't disappoint. A double slice of margherita to go, cheese against cheese in my hand, and I was back in the Bologna of my youth, devouring my favourite flavours. This is what all those American chains like Pizza Hut, Dominos, Papa Johns etc aspire towards, but none of them succeed. The original is still the best and next time I find myself in Bologna, I'm heading straight for lunch at Altero.

3rd Wave Espresso

12/03/2024: This is a little coffee shop and snack bar along Via Saragozza that is open from 7am to 7pm daily (closed on Sundays). We stopped by here recently on our way to Santuario della Madonna di San Luca and enjoyed espresso and brioche with pistachio. Prices were fair, service quick and everything tasted as it should. Quick 5 minute in and out and we were on our way up to the portico path to San Luca.
12/03/2024: Stopped at 3rd Wave for a quick espresso and cornetto on our way up to San Luca. Conveniently located along the way from the city centre if you are going by foot. Everything tasted as expected, price fair, service fast. Perfect for the occasion.

02/04/2024: Excellent food and good value for money
24/03/2024: Particular place immersed in the history of Castel Maggiore. Located in the Castello area along the (once navigable) canal of the navile which now hosts a beautiful cycle route along the Bentivoglio-Bologna-Casalecchio axis. The food is typical of traditional Bolognese cuisine with some touches of innovation and contamination... Excellent service and friendliness of the staff.
