We visited this venue twice; once for lunch on New Year’s Eve and another for brunch on New Year’s Day. Both times, we were greeted quickly, handled efficiently and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We wanted for nothing. All in all, it was a fantastic experience worth repeating. The atmosphere downstairs is classic Florence. Murano chandeliers, stonework, large art and velvet seating. It’s like it was frozen in time and it’s exactly what one expects from that type of venue. Thank you all For a wonderful experience.

very elegant, refined and silent environment. staff ready to emphasize the peculiarities of local products with (continuous) information that I would even say is useful. the quality of the dishes, in my humble opinion, does not live up to the expectations that the location creates. finally, I believe the bill was not adequate for the experience, which was actually excessive.

I’d leave 200/100 for the great experience today, the food is amazing, service as well, everyone is super friendly and nice ! I loved their recommendation and will certainly come back for my next visit in Florence. Thank you!

This Osteria is the “little brother” of the two-star Michelin restaurant, located in the superb Hotel Brunelleschi. If anybody has ever read my older reviews of (most) restaurants with pretensions, (and “tasting menus' ') you will know that as a rule - I’m not a fan. Why? Well first and foremost, a tendency for the kitchen to show me how clever they are - by ignoring tried and tested food “rules” (and ruining my dinner in the process). A leaning towards “fetishizing” food and service to an embarrassing degree and last but not least, portions so small you need to have a pizza, after having eaten your tiny dinner. In the case of the Osteria Pagliazza, whoever is in charge of the kitchens really…really knows their stuff. No fish and custard, no dry-ice to mimic the “sea mist”, etc. just first class ingredients, cooked to absolute perfection. Pretentious service? Not here. Service is informal, friendly and extremely efficient. You have a choice of a reasonably priced wine flight with the tasting menus and if you choose a bottle, prices are slightly above what is normal for the city, (but on par with establishments of similar quality). You can choose a la carte but we were tempted (on our first visit) by the meat tasting menu. The reason why was simply because we had eaten a rather large lunch and didn’t want another big meal. So the prospect of smaller portions on the tasting menu seemed sensible. Let me tell you now that even if they had served huge portions - we would have scoffed the lot! From the amuse bouche, through a superb beef carpaccio, via an astonishingly good pasta dish, (pumpkin and Cavolo Nero), to the best bit of beef, (sirloin?) that we ate all week. An absolute triumph of a meal. I have forgotten what the dessert was, (I’m not a big dessert fan) but my wife, (who is) was groaning with delight. In fact, the dinner was so good, we booked again a few days later to try the fish tasting menu, which was equally excellent. I can thoroughly recommend a visit to Osteria Pagliazza, even if you are not staying at the hotel. You will not be disappointed.

We had dinner here and it was delicious the food was incredible. The staff were attentive and very friendly. Would definitely recommend this place for a special occasion.
