Characteristic place on the sea, it is best to go as soon as it opens because then a long queue forms! However everything is organized after taking the table and queuing for the order and the receipt you wait for the order number and all this happens in a short time! Table service and do it yourself. The dishes are good and tasty, the linguine, mussels and clams are excellent, the fried food is crunchy and tasty, in short, even if the environment is a little spartan, it is the right place to enjoy excellent seafood flavors with friends or family. Good experience. Fish cooked at the moment, the rest is from the diner. Restaurant style. The raw fish is good.. All in all it is an excellent compromise for a quick INFORMAL lunch or dinner.

So...you eat well. The hot dishes are cooked inside the restaurant, while the raw fish is served by the fish shop associated with them which is located about fifteen meters away. First of all you have to stand in an endless queue to pay at the cash register for what you want to order. In that context the placemat, the plastic cutlery and the paid drink are delivered (the wine (if it is by the glass it is terrible) is given where the ordered dishes are collected). TIP: while one is queuing to pay, the others have to work hard to find a place to sit otherwise it is very easy for one to end up standing... As for the preparation times, they are not particularly fast and it happens very often the second courses are ready first and then the first courses, it depends on how they organize themselves in the kitchen. The number found on the receipt is called and you go to collect what you ordered, even several times (McDonald's style, even if at McDonald's the dishes are brought to your table...). At the end, the used containers are taken to the separate waste bins... (always at the customer's expense). So, the first thing that should be underlined is the location which is fantastic, it is on the seashore, overlooking the small port of the village. Second thing to highlight is that the prices are VERY HIGH when compared to what is in effect a self-service (even if with "personalized" dishes delivered "ad hoc"). Thirdly, the food is good, the fried food is dry, the pasta is al dente, the seafood is fresh. The staff at the counter is very busy and therefore bordering on surly, but it doesn't matter. In the outdoor area there is a boy who, with a decidedly not very clean cloth, quickly wipes the surface of the tables which are freed for a few seconds and the seat of the chairs (same cloth for dozens of chairs and many tables...:-)) . There would be many things that could be improved, but it's still good because it's priceless to eat a very hot fried calamari by the sea even if in the midst of two hundred other people... I've been going there for years.

I went to this place for lunch... We took the tagliatelle, the mixed fry and the octopus balls and as a first course the tagliolini with seafood... All very good, especially the tagliolini with seafood. A nice place to spend a day outdoors. I only recommend going around opening time to avoid having to queue too long, but the service is still quite fast.

29/03/2024: Unfortunately, the biggest culinary disappointment from our short stay in Monopoli and the surrounding area. The other places were great or very good. Tempted by good ratings on Google Maps and the recommendation of our hostess, we went to dinner at Ii Guazzetto. Service: sitting down at the table, we ordered sparkling water, unfortunately we received water without carbonation and it took us a very long time to get the attention of any waiter to change the water. After taking the order, the waiter asked us to change the table and move to a much less pleasant place. After waiting for the oysters I ordered as an appetizer, I learned that they no longer had them, although they continued to distribute cold appetizers containing oysters around the restaurant for a long time. The waiters were absent most of the time when we expected their interest. Food: The flagship dish I ordered was Il Guazzetto Zuppa do Pesce - the taste was correct, tomato-fishy, ​​but without any particular note worth remembering. (I often order it in different places, so I can compare it a lot). The disappointment was the size of the shrimps and other crustaceans in the soup - especially compared to the photo on the website. Maneuvering inside them to extract the contents required not a fork but some kind of microsurgery tool! Fried cod in batter is served with sweet and sour Asian sauce - it looks like it's ready from the bottle. The only thing that stood out was the grilled shrimps ordered by my husband - they were very tasty. However, after a series of failures, his vigilance was reduced and he decided to have dessert. Crema catalana, which should be at room temperature in a compact consistency - only burnt with a blowtorch from above to break through the crust with a spoon, had a boiling point and a flowing consistency (heated completely before serving?) and the outer layer immediately stuck to the entire surface. teaspoons. We won't come back.
10/03/2024: Sea bass carpaccio scented with dill with orange segments and pink pepper, it is decidedly sublime!

06/04/2024: I ate food full of taste and character. that's what I was looking for, a place that expresses something from the local culture and personality. I don't know where the staff is arrogant or unfriendly. Not here! sometimes, I speak from experience, clients bring with them all kinds of conflicts or unfulfillments and they find you open enough to vent. So,chill people, be simple and you will live a longer and a better live 🍷🍷
