Osteria Caccianferno In Trani

We had lunch in this trattoria located in the immediate vicinity of the wonderful Trani Cathedral. We enjoyed two excellent first courses and two dishes of various side dishes based on chicory and potatoes. The cuisine is meticulous and this can be seen not only in the flavor of the food but also in its presentation. Normal price for a tourist location.

The menu only had meat and sausage. This was very well prepared and tasty. Communication in English was a bit difficult.

Excellent appetizers even if minimal dishes €30.00 (15 each to eat six dishes, some of which to share, such as an artichoke, a timbale and some vegetables, it seems a bit excessive to me), excellent first course even if not abundant €14.00 also in this case a little high... the meat bombette, trotter and pork sausage are truly exquisite cooked in a wood oven and have an unparalleled flavour.

Tables outside. We passed by and returned attracted by the smell of roasted meats. All very good. Coffee can be improved. The owner's dog is priceless.

A very traditional, rustic restaurant and an escape from the numerous fish restaurants in the area. A good selection of freshly prepared local dishes and meats grilled in a barbecue inside the dining room. Food was great, especially the grilled steak, service was first class and prompt and it had a warm cosy atmosphere.

Cozy place with warm and appropriate decor for a tavern. We booked on the recommendation of a local and it was worth it. Close to the cathedral, the place is welcoming and the staff helpful. The products are good and well presented, we took a platter and a second course each with a side dish of baked potatoes... the cured meats and cheese were good and fresh, accompanied by a fig and ginger jam and the quantities were generous for two people, the portion of bombette and horse strips respected the required cooking and were really tasty and stuffed in such a way as not to obscure the true flavor of the meat; really tasty baked potatoes. Recommended for those like us who are looking for welcoming and tasty places. Excellent quality/price.
