Very nice little restaurant with B&B, it feels like entering grandma's house with old photographs and various pictures, however very nice - very good food and well presented - very nice hosts

A lunch of those passing through, almost in a rush which quickly transformed into a tasting experience as refined as it was unexpected. The Locanda dei Mercanti restaurant has that mix of balanced refinement and simplicity that immediately makes you feel like a welcome guest rather than a customer. The approach that the owners and managers of the service and the kitchen have given to the experience is certainly of a "family" type, in the reductive sense of the term given that the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing but in reality nothing here is ordinary, the The same environments, the particular furnishings and even the arrangement of the tables are of a refined environment that the owners, managers of the kitchen and service, manage to further enhance with their presence and conversation about ingredients and preparations. In the end all this made us delay our departure but we were able to observe that at the end of the service the kitchen and the kitchen area were, which is not always a given, cleaned from top to bottom. Ah, the whole location is clean and really well kept, including services (another thing not to be taken for granted). Returning to food, for those who are sensitive to quantities, the portions are normal and not small as sometimes happens in restaurants, especially if they are high-end ("big saint, small miracle" effect). As for the location, it is inside the town, unfortunately a little sacrificed but still characteristic on the side of one of the two churches overlooking the square. The restaurant is however well connected to the main road so it can be easily reached and the car can be left in the convenient car park in the square in front and this is important for those staying in the Locanda (there are three rooms available with the B&B formula). Prices? Medium-high, perhaps, but for an authentic fine dining experience it isn't much and this is what ultimately remains as a pleasant memory.

23/03/2024: Eating here has been my regular weekly appointment for several years now: a bit like brushing your teeth in the evening before going to sleep. The place has undergone several renovations since it opened, the most important and positive certainly since the arrival of the new manager Cristina. It's a shame to see an average of only 4 stars for this restaurant due to bad reviews from previous managements (over 4 years ago). If we only calculated the reviews of the last 3 years, it would have the highest average in the Biella area: in fact, in my opinion it is the best all you can eat in Biella. No more nonsense, to order here you will find tablets (the first Chinese restaurant in Biella to introduce them), very useful both for being able to see through images what to expect at the table (especially those who are not frequenters of oriental cuisine) and for no longer having the nightmare of waiting for a dish that never arrives or finding something you didn't order. The quality of the food is excellent for an all you can eat, the fish is fresh and all the dishes you order arrive at the table freshly cooked (including the tempura which is essential for being crunchy). The waitress Mariana is the best: if you are a frequenter she usually brings you what you ask for without even having to ask her (for example ginger, wasabi and various condiments), while the other waitresses have some gaps due more to their language. The furnishings of the rooms are characteristic (red prevails over everything) and the cleanliness of the bathroom is a positive note (when you enter you always smell the scent of disinfectant). Parking is not a problem because in addition to the many spaces available on the street, they have reserved parking behind them (at least 20 spaces). Lately prices have increased a bit (due to water no longer being included in the fixed menu), but on the other hand they have also felt the price increases. If I have to nitpick, some dishes can only be ordered once (around 5). All my friends who I brought to try, since that day have changed sushi "supplier" in Biella and come here. I'll leave some photos (of the many) to give you an idea.

07/04/2024: Excellent pizzeria and restaurant with friendly and helpful staff. Sublime pizza full of ingredients. Excellent pasta with clams and bottarga. Really good desserts.
25/03/2024: Friendly and helpful staff, portions a little small compared to other nearby places, price a little excessive in relation to the quality and quantity, I prefer other neighboring places.
