L'Oca Ciuca In Vigevano

Located in a good position near the square......service staff a little "rough".....(if you don't eat goose what are you doing....sic...)... but in the end it's ok.

Saturday 6th day in Vigevano for an event which at 6.30pm they tell us has been postponed, fortunately however, the more than positive note is having discovered Oca Ciuca, this little restaurant in the historic center a stone's throw from the square ducal, a culinary pearl. The place is packed, they ask us if we are kindly willing to wait half an hour, we wait calmly walking around the center also because the alternatives around were not as captivating as their menu. They call me back after a quarter of an hour, the table is ready. The staff is very kind and welcoming and since details make the difference, I immediately notice that without even asking the owner provides the "table hook" so as not to leave my wife's bag on the floor. The dishes are delicious, Perigord salad, with: goose speck, toasted goat crotin, pears, smoked almonds, black truffle. A very fresh and very intriguing dish. Sautéed snails with porcini mushrooms and polenta……. (I love snails!!!) Cheese and pepper tagliolini with duck breast,…. very interesting Confit goose leg with potatoes and spiced apple puree... a spectacle of crunchiness and tenderness. 2 bottles of sparkling water, two glasses of excellent wine, a white and a red, coffee and coffee killer. €96. I would say that we can definitely go back to try the rest of the menu and given the conditions I can't wait. See you soon....

A small culinary reality, near Piazza Ducale in Vigevano. Very friendly and fast service...obviously the various goose-based dishes are delicious! I recommend it to you.

Lunch during the week. The place is very nice, warm and welcoming. The staff prepared and friendly. Very little waiting for service. The dishes are all well executed and really tasty. 2 of us spent 60 euros. We took: grandmother Bruna's platter which contains a goose breast that melts in your mouth and a DREAM goose pâté (the recipe is that of grandmother Bruna who prepared it only for Christmas), a Castelmagno flan and artichokes a unique softness on the palate, in addition to braised goose ravioli and carbonara packets, both abundant and well executed. To drink water. There is no cover charge. I really enjoyed their sandwiches. Absolutely recommended.

Ho pranzato qui con un gruppo di amici Reggiani e siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti. Piatti ben eseguiti come l'antipasto di salumi e paté d'oca eccellente come le tagliatelle al ragout d'oca o il risotto del giorno con funghi porcini carne di cervo e gocce di mirtilli. Senza tralasciare la coscia d'oca al forno croccante con patate . Dolci particolari .Vini dell'Oltrepo' ottimi.(bonarda in primis) Servizio professionale e conto onesto. Peccato che il locale sia un po' piccolo ma curato e accogliente. Bravi!!

Great experience! Cozy place that offers traditional dishes, especially goose-based dishes. Excellent quality food and truly delicious.

In inverno a Vigevano l'oca é un must, e non ci ha assolutamente deluso all'Oca Ciuca, un ristorante di tradizione a un passo dalla bellissima piazza, sia per i salumi (prosciutto crudo di petto, salame cotto, mortadella e paté di fegato), sia per la squisita coscia confit (l'avevo sempre e solo mangiata in versione "confit de canard", l'esperienza con l'oca è stata eccellente). Bonarda appena mosso (ma 14 gradi, e non si sentono) per accompagnare egregiamente il tutto, dolci fatti in casa, conto non economico ma giusto, servizio impeccabile.
