Spectacular location! Good food, clean place.

The food, service, and atmosphere were impeccable. The local wine selection and the white chocolate mousse were excellent in particular.

A particular restaurant is located underground in an ancient cave. For the food and wine - they are gorgeous. For service a little chaotic. I went when it was in season, they had several waiters and they flew like the wind, it seemed they were almost lost. However they are always good and kind but the organization here is unfortunately bad. Parking nearby and small, I recommend walking from where you are. Or park far away and get here on foot.

Suggestive location, a cave in the center of Orvieto, very good food with honest prices (the kitchen closes perhaps a little too early). Advise

This is one of the best restaurants in the Umbria/Tuscany region. We eat there about once a month and have never been disappointed. It is in an ancient Etruscan grotto. You can even watch them make your homemade pasta. I highly recommend this great place.

Uno dei locali più suggestivi di Orvieto dove degustare la cucina locale. Ottima proposta di piatti tipici della tradizione e vini ben abbinati alle proposte. Abbiamo fatto un percorso attraverso un tagliere misto davvero ottimo con salumi locali ma ahimè povero di formaggi. I primi ordinati erano buoni, ben presentati con porzioni giuste. Quello che ci ha lasciato perplessi sono state le carni, due diversi secondi che come comune denominatore avevano l'estrema cottura della carne che, purtroppo, risultava faticosa alla masticazione. Nulla da eccepire però per quanto riguarda i sapori... nel complesso ben bilanciati in tutti i piatti ordinati. Locale comunque molto suggestivo soprattutto per le cene di coppia.

This hidden gem is actually the very first restaurant that you encounter in the old medieval section of Orvieto as you come off the lift from the Campo Della Fiera parking lot/garage and start heading into town. You could easily miss it if not looking for it! Built in the ancient Estruscan caves upon which the city of Orvieto was built, this restaurant features the best of local cuisine. Orvieto is known for its wild game (esp. boar) and for its unique pasta variant, ombrichelli, a hand-rolled thick spaghetti-like pasta. I started with the Tagliatelle al ragu di agnello (tagliatelle pasta with a lamb ragu) that was heavenly, and followed that with the Cinghiale al Bujone, which is cubed pieces of wild boar in s savory sauce, cooked to perfection. Other family members had the Ombrichelli cacio e pepe con rigotta (ombrichelli in a cracked black pepper and cheese sauce) and the Ombrichelli al tartufo (ombrichelli in a black truffle sauce). For the second course my wife ordered the Filetto di manzo al tartufo, which is a thin sliced steak filet drizzled with truffle oil. It was so good that we went back a second night and tried other dishes! My recommendation: Order the featured local specialties, in this case the Ombrichelli and the boar or lamb! Warning: The truffle oil used is STRONG! If you don't absolutely love truffle, it could be overwhelming. Although they take credit cards, it's FAR better to pay in cash (euros). Credit card merchants charge 2-3 times the processing fees in Italy than they do in America, and this takes a HUGE bite out of the profits of small merchants.
